We arrived and were seated to a table that looked like it wasn’t fully cleaned from the last customers. I had cutlery and a napkin and my wife only had cutlery, she finally was brought one at the end of our meal. We ordered a bottle of white wine which they brought to our table without a chiller, just plopped it on the table (could have at least kept it in the fridge for us), both wine glasses were dirty and had lip marks and food on them, the server took them away and brought us 2 wet wine glasses (thanks for drying them). We ordered quesadillas €8.50/$13.00 CAD (everywhere we’ve ever been you get 4) 2 slices showed up, sparsely without hardly any chicken, they were crusty and tough - very disappointing, the salad that was in the side had seen better days as well, the cucumber had gone off. There was a server who sneezed at least 4 times (while he was serving meals), and then we watched him wipe his nose with his hand and continue serving, no hand washing - especially in this day and age with COVID - we left hungry as we did not trust the cleanliness of this restaurant, this is what we could see!! The ornaments in the window ledge were covered in dust and had not been cleaned in ages. The people next to us has ordered steak €22 and they said it was tough and overcooked. When we received our bill and were charged €27 instead of the €22 for our bottle of wine to which we had them correct, double check your bill. Being in the heart of Amsterdam Central can bring tourists in, but not locals or people who read reviews. Cleanliness is a problem along with overpriced meals and not good value...
Read moreMy friend and I ended up here being aware that it would have probably been a tourist trap. But it was late and we were starting to run out of options for our dinner.
Luckily it turned out to be better than I feared but still not good enough to decide to intentionally come back.
We got 2 cocktails each. The first one because it had blue curacao which is something that I have very rarely and the thought of makes me happy. Sadly the drink was mediocre.
We then had a margarita that came strongly recommended by a waiter who built a lot of hype around it. It was better but still mediocre. Not a cocktail I would generally want to pay a premium price for.
The nachos we had as starters were also not tasty.
At that point I was very surprised when we got our main which was a grill for 2 and it looked so special. It was even more surprising when the first bites of meat tasted quite good. I also got lucky to get my best bites at the beginning as the other pieces were less tasty.
I remember the accompanying chips being limp and also not particularly tasty.
The view instead was particularly beautiful as it faced one of the canals of...
Read moreDefinitely not worth a visit. I never post reviews for restaurants, so this should show how adamant I am about this. The food was very overpriced for what we got. I got the steak fajitas which were a bit odd but fairly tasty nonetheless. However, my wife got the chicken/cheese quesadilla with vegetables and fries on the side. The quesadilla was small for €11.50, had little taste, and was fairly dry. The vegetables were obviously a from a microwave steam and serve bag. The fries were from a freezer bag and poorly baked in an oven. The staff was mostly friendly, but we sat around for 20+ min after finishing the food and finally got up to find the waiter so we could pay (they were not busy). Hilariously, we had 3 different people come up within 2 min of being sat and inquired about our drink choices (we hadn’t even been able to look at the menu for more than 10 seconds). Overall, this was an odd and disappointing dinner, especially considering we could have picked between 100 other restaurants within a 10 min walk. They are in a great location, so I hope they can learn from the complaints and make...
