Mojo: bunch of douchebag liars who serve mediocre food at a heavy price.
Me and a friend of mine ordered pickup to have a quick bite before a show. At the location we heard that the show was cancelled so we asked if we could maybe eat our food at the location. The answer was no since it was booked ‘full’ and we paid for pickup so sitting at the restaurant is not included. We paid a total of 45 euros so that didn’t make sense to us, but just went with it since the lady didn’t want to let us in. We decided to instead sit down in the hallway underneath the restaurant since it was cold and windy outside.
No more than 5 minutes later the waitress walked up to us to let us know the place we were sitting on was for customers waiting to go in. “But there weren’t any customers?” we said. “Yeah but it’s just not allowed and we don’t have a table for you anyways” she responded. We asked if we could enter the restaurant anyways if there was any place somehow, perhaps by buying a drink. We bought our food and didn’t want to eat it in the cold weather outside.
Disappointment struck us yet again when the lady told us everything is full until minimum 1,5 hours later for Ramadan, even on this Tuesday evening. We didn’t believe it since we saw no line nor any unavailable reservation times online, but she wanted us out of the hallway since it would give a bad impression to customers.
I couldn’t believe what happened. Out of disbelief I decided to call up the restaurant with a low voice under the name ‘Hans van Neuen’ and asked the lady if there were any seats available for 2. “When would you like to come sir?” - she asked. “Right now! We’re 2 minutes away. Is that okay?? We want to come as soon as possible!” She said “Of course we have space available for you! We have a table for 2 ready for you sir”.
Hung up the phone and wrote this review. Ate the food at centraal station on a cold cold chair, and the pokebowls we ordered had to much rice, as well as the fish not tasting very good.

Read moreThis restaurant has really gone downhill in the past couple years. Portion sizes have been more than halved, and more options have a surcharge, including all deserts. The wasabi tastes like dry paste, not even slightly sharp. The baked salmon is thin and dry and the nigiri toppings are thin. You have to load the menu on your own phone using a QR code - they don't have tablets anymore - and the page simply didn't function properly on my dad's iphone. The restaurant has splurged on robot waiters that take a minute to cart trays 15 meters from the kitchen to the server area, only for servers to have to pick the trays up to bring them to your table. Whether because of this or other understaffing, it takes significantly longer for food to arrive, and with the smaller portions it gets kind of obnoxious. The tables are small and the plates are much bigger than necessary for how little food they carry, so it was a constant bother to move stuff around to make space for new dishes, and with the smaller portion sizes waiters spent a lot more time grabbing or bringing plates, and visitors spend a lot more time figuring out their orders. The view and decor are pretty, but there's too loud high-tempo music playing that makes it difficult to relax properly, as if they're trying to get people to hurry up and make room for the next people. There are also some weird dry ice options that definitely seem like social media bait.
Basically, it's a...
Read moreWent in to make a reservation. Waited in a long line to talk to the host about making a reservation, just to get asked to wait for thirty people to pass me to check in, and then get asked back up to make a reservation. Took the host less than a minute to look to see if he had room tonight; so he basically had me wait 10 mins. for something he could have taken less than a minute to look up. My guests showed up and started looking for me, and the host got rude with them. We finally sat down, with two people having their back to the window with multiple window tables available. Asked to be relocated and got told we couldn't move and that nothing was available due to reservations. Which made me think; you mean like a reservation I had, where I got told I couldn't reserve a specific table/seat? We sat for a second, I called the Sea Palace across the street in the bay to see if they had reservations. They weren't sure but were very nice and worked hard to try and find room. We got up and left after they said they would find us the best seat they had available; so we all went to the Sea Palace. Best decision ever. Sitting here at the Sea Palace now and it has been nothing but excellent service since arriving. Also, they didn't put any time limit on how long we could be there for dinner; something else I was surprised about with Mojo. Highly recommend not going to Mojo, unless you are just looking for...
