Really poor experience here unfortunately. Had booked a table for Valentine’s Day, waitress came over and served us our drinks - all good so far. About 15 minutes later she took our orders for starters and mains, to which she said there was a power cut so they were only serving pizza, so we had another look through the menu and had to wait another 45 minutes before anyone came to take our order. At this point we had decided to go elsewhere due to the limited menu and already poor service. We ended up flagging the waitress down and asking for the bill, we asked to pay by card and she said the card machine wasn’t working and they could only take cash. My partner and I were there on holiday and had been using card for payment up until then and hadn’t bought cash with us. We were then marched to the ATM down the road by the waitress stood and watched us the entire time. We already knew that the exchange rate from pounds to euros on this ATM would likely be pretty poor, and then the ATM charged us and extra €4.50 charge. I’m the end we paid and left, but this was overall a really bad experience, as someone who has working in customer facing jobs I understand that it really isn’t easy, but to have not been told about the limited menu and broken card reader before being seated and served drinks was super annoying. Waste on money and time, luckily there seem to be a handful of much better options for Italian food on this road, so the night wasn’t...
Read moreWe stopped here after our dance festival ended as it was one of the few places left open at a late hour. I have been a server in Paris and in the USA so I understand the hospitality industry and how difficult it can be. HOWEVER, I was with my French classmates and the waiter asked us where we’re from. When we explain that we’re from France he says “we do things differently here” and explains the one card, one table policy. Okay. We wait a while for the food, normal as they sat at least 5 tables at once. But when the food came it was below average. The pasta had no taste and ended up making me sick, but still not the biggest deal as we understood the overall situation. At the end, the waiter (a man, shaved head), told us at least 3 times the tip is not included - that we need to add a tip. But in a way that was so uncomfortable, rude and awkward that it felt it was obliged. Again, I get it but for below average food and service we did not feel as though it merited a tip. We ended up not leaving anything and he said (in Dutch but didn’t realize one of us understood) “next time French people come in we do not seat them”. The self entitlement and the overall lack of customer service was appalling. Not to mention that a table leaving shouted at them “worst service ever. Shitty experience”. So. If you’re a tourist or whatever, locals im sure avoid this type of place, save yourself time and trouble and eat literally...
Read moreWe stayed in Amsterdam for a week and this restaurant was by far the worst experience we had. Customers shouldn't have to suffer from the team's lack of organisation, and even less from their lack of stress management and untimely outbursts of anger.
We went there for 2 earlier in the week; the service was OK despite one of the waiters being unfriendly. We took some friends there at the weekend for the last service of the evening. Without a ‘hello’, the waiter who literally barked at us, telling us that it was completely impossible for several people to pay by card and that one person had to take care of everything. We were, and I quote, ‘the 15th table to whom he said that today’. No problem in theory, but talking to us as if we were human beings would have been more acceptable. After that, we waited 20 minutes before being given the menus, then 35 minutes before being served. In the middle of the dinner, the so-called waiter came to our table, obviously very annoyed that he hadn't finished his service sooner, and threw the bill onto one of our plates. What kind of attitude was this? We pointed out to him that it was extremely inappropriate, to which he retorted that he had a train to catch after his service and that he wanted us to pay and get out immediately. His colleagues apologised on his behalf, but didn't let us finish our food because it was "too late". We could completely understand this imperative, it would simply have been better not to accept us by telling us that the restaurant was closing or serving us faster. We had to go to another restaurant to have a proper dinner. Everyone in the group was confused and speechless.
