City Canal Cruise — Attraction in Amsterdam

This a good way to get a quick overview of Amsterdam. The view from the boat is different from land so it’s also a fun way to go through the canals.

The audio guide was ok, there are different languages and the voice over was clear enough. However, there could have been more information given since there were many silent gaps and information was rather sparse considering we were going through many canals and passing many buildings. And the audio timing while passing by the landmarks were not in sync so sometimes we would miss it or it would be before we got to the place so a bit confusing at times.

Our captain did not add more information unlike the other reviewers experienced.

A good way to browse through Amsterdam city and know many historical places. Audio guides are enabled but sometimes you may miss the link between things being said in audio and what you are looking at. Captain can be informative but you may not understand everything he says if you are at the far end of boat. Do plan to sit near captain if you are interested in what he is saying other than audio guide. Many important monuments are shown from cruise. I would suggest do your self study before hand so that you what you are looking at and what is being said. I had a pretty bad experience although not totally the company's fault. I booked via getyourguide but when I showed up they had no more spots for the day, turned out ok because I bought a ticket for a separate tour and was able to get a refund from getyourguide but they could have made it more clear you have to show up early to get a spot. The other passengers on the boat were super loud and there were poorly behaved children which was annoying AF. Finally we got stuck in traffic on the way back so we were in the boat for 2 hours so be prepared for that. The light show was great though and I had a good time if you...
