I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stoop & Stoop eetcafé in Amsterdam, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. We stopped by on a bustling weekend evening, and despite the crowds, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated quite quickly by the friendly and gracious staff. One of the highlights of our dining experience was being able to secure a seat outside. Despite the chilly weather, Stoop & Stoop eetcafé had thoughtfully provided heaters that kept us warm and comfortable throughout our meal. It was a delightful touch that allowed us to enjoy the outdoor ambiance without feeling the chill. The food at Stoop & Stoop eetcafé was nothing short of delicious. We had the opportunity to try some of the local Dutch dishes, and they did not disappoint. From the hearty stamppot to the flavorful bitterballen, each bite was a delight to the taste buds. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the preparation truly showcased the culinary expertise of the chefs. To complement our meal, we indulged in the quintessential Dutch beverage: Heineken beer. The restaurant's selection of drinks was impressive, and the service was prompt and attentive. Sipping on a cold, refreshing Heineken while savoring the flavors of the food was the perfect combination. I also want to mention the cleanliness of the washroom. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to even the smallest details. The washroom at Stoop & Stoop eetcafé was immaculate, reflecting the establishment's commitment to providing a pleasant and comfortable dining experience for its patrons. Overall, I highly recommend Stoop & Stoop eetcafé to any visitors to Amsterdam. The bustling atmosphere, friendly and gracious staff, delicious food, and inviting outdoor seating make it a must-visit destination. Whether you're looking to try local Dutch cuisine or simply enjoy a drink with friends, Stoop & Stoop eetcafé delivers an exceptional dining experience. So, if you find yourself in Amsterdam, be sure to stop by this fantastic establishment and indulge in the culinary delights it has to offer

Great place to try Dutch classics! It’s a very cozy not that touristy restaurant located closed to the city center with a good vibe. The food is tasty and very fresh. They have different options but my highlights were the snacks. You can order a mix of them that comes with 15 units and 3 dips. Perfect for sharing and trying Dutch entrees. I enjoyed the bitterballen a lot, same with the fried local fish and the cheese sticks!! So crunchy and full of flavor. I went without a reservation but making one is something you should definitely consider (just in case). The service is fast and the atmosphere just as nice. A must.

We ate here twice during our stay in Amsterdam. The first time outside when it was raining, but the heat lamps made it very cosy. The fish and chips were excellent and we had the Stroopwafelsliquer as dessert. Absolutely delicious. The second time we sat inside and had the Holandse steak with pepper sauce, fries and a mixed salad. The steak was perfectly prepared according to our taste and delicious. The restaurant is both cosy and inviting and the owner is delightful. Nothing is too much trouble for him. Our Canadian friends travelling with us were just as pleased. We hope to return.

On our first afternoon in Amsterdam, exhausted and frazzled by multiple flight delays on the way over, my wife and I were wandering, by chance, at 4pm, down a side street off the Leidsestraat—and there it was, the Stoop & Stoop eetcafé, advertising traditional Dutch cuisine. In need of a very early dinner, we collapsed into two outdoor seats and were soon greeted by the proprietor, who then brought us our requested starters: two beers and two bowls of Dutch pea soup with sausage. And so the healing began. The food, the service, and the prices were so good that we returned, without first making a reservation, on a Saturday evening when the place was packed. The proprietor recognized us at once and somehow found us a table within ten minutes. The next night we made the mistake, out of curiosity, of trying a nearby competitor who also advertises Dutch cuisine. Not even close! We returned to Stoop & Stoop for the third time, on the last of our six nights in Amsterdam, to be treated, I don’t know why, as if we were near relations of the family. And this place is indeed family run—father, mother, son. Everything we ate there was excellent: the pea soup, the goat cheese salad, the fish platter (oh, that smoked eel and pickled herring!), the salmon and avocado salad, the spare ribs, and the desserts. But what sets Stoop & Stoop apart, even more than the food, is the family warmth that marks everything they do. The young man emailed his cousin, a student in Delft, our next destination, to get recommendations for places to eat there! We will treasure our memories of Stoop & Stoop as highlights of our two weeks in the...

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience!

I recently dined at Stoop&Stoop and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. The decor is chic and modern, yet cozy, with a perfect blend of elegance and comfort.

The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our server took the time to explain the menu in detail and made thoughtful recommendations that perfectly suited our tastes.

Now, onto the food! Every dish was a masterpiece, both in presentation and flavor. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Starters which was a delightful burst of flavors that set the bar high for the rest of the meal. For the main course, which was cooked to perfection. The textures and flavors were expertly combined, making every bite a new discovery.

The dessert, apple pie was the perfect end to an incredible meal—decadent, yet light, and absolutely delicious. The wine list was extensive, offering a great selection that complemented our meal beautifully.

Overall, stoop and stoop provides a dining experience that is truly exceptional. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just looking for a great meal, this is the place to go. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Five out of...
