I had a terrible experience and do not recommend to go to this restaurant.
The text on the menu is so small, that its difficult to even identify what ingredients are in the pizza. I ordered a pizza which has salami, which I do not eat so I made an error as the text on the menu was so small. I explained this to a member of staff, who did not seem to care.
The lady brought the pizza and I explained the issue. She then said I cannot change the pizza, but she can remove the salami. I asked her to please remove it -which she did. But then said I must still pay 15.50 euros for the pizza. I do feel this is unfair, as the menu is difficult to read, it was my first time there and I am not allowed to eat salami due to religion reasons. So, I was left with a margherita pizza with mushrooms, which is cheaper on the menu.
We also ordered a large bottle of water, which the restaurant charged 5.75 euros for. This is extremely expensive, I can find water cheaper at an airport. Once the meal was done, I explained to the women why I'm being charged 15.50 for a margherita pizza with mushrooms. She started to talk over me and argue with me. From then on, I made it clear that this was unacceptable.
Overall, I feel poorly treated as a customer for the following reasons:
Having to pay 15.50 for a pizza, which I could not eat due to the text being so small on the menu. Human-error does occur and the restaurant, did not provide any discretion whatsoever, even when I explained not being able to eat the pizza due to religious reasons.
The staffs attitude towards me once I asked why I have to pay the full cost, was very rude and unwelcoming and I did not receive any apology of the restaurant.
The restaurant staff seemed disorganised, unsympathetic and charge...
If you're on the hunt for authentic Italian pizza in Amsterdam, look no further than Pizza Beppe. This cozy spot delivers a slice of Naples right in the city, making it a must-visit for pizza lovers.
The star of the show here is, without a doubt, the pizza. True to the Neapolitan tradition, the dough is light, airy, and perfectly charred, with a delightful chewiness that screams authenticity. Each pizza is crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients that bring out bold and vibrant flavors. Whether it's the tangy San Marzano tomato sauce, creamy fior di latte mozzarella, or fragrant basil, every bite feels like a harmonious ode to Italian culinary excellence.
The atmosphere at Pizza Beppe is warm and inviting. With its laid-back charm, the space feels like a perfect blend of a neighborhood pizzeria and a stylish, modern eatery. It's not overly polished, but that adds to its cozy appeal. It's the kind of place where you can relax, share a meal with friends or family, and forget the bustle of the city outside.
Service here is friendly and approachable, though not overly formal. The staff are attentive and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. While it's clear they focus more on creating a hospitable environment than maintaining rigid professionalism, this casual approach fits well with the unpretentious vibe of the restaurant.
Ultimately, Pizza Beppe offers fantastic value for money. The authenticity and quality of the pizza make it worth every euro, and the experience of enjoying such a traditional taste in the heart of Amsterdam is truly special. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this pizzeria should be on your radar.
Authenticity, fresh ingredients, and cozy ambiance make Pizza Beppe a standout for Neapolitan pizza...
Read moreWe ordered pizza from Beppe Pizzeria for a work do, and we were happy to see that they had a vegan option! Maybe they have vegan cheese? Maybe they don't have cheese but have a pizza with vegetables on it? No. Their vegan option is watery tomato sauce and dried herbs on a piece of cooked dough. The menu said there was garlic on there but as you can see they even managed to miss that, the one thing that may have given this pizza some flavour (judging by the oregano, maybe their idea of "garlic" is a 1/4 tsp of garlic powder in the sauce). We honestly would have been embarrassed to have this on our menu. You'd have thought that if they were charging €10 for that they'd actually cover the entire pizza, but even then there was like 5 cm of crust all the way around the pizza and you can see the dough through the sauce. On top of this, all of our pizzas were cold! Unfortunately we had to order something from this "pizzeria" because it was a work meal, but at least they gave us all...
