Restaurant Plancius — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I visited the restaurant recently, using a Groupon voucher. While the service was very good, I walked out disappointed from having to deal with a dishonest manager. The manager decided at the end of the dinner, when we had to pay bill, to charge us €3,50 for the tap water that we were served. His/her reason was that because we had used out Groupon voucher, he/she needed to make some profit. While his/her reasoning about finding ways to make profit is understandable, it doesn't feel honest to charge for tap water, especially if we were not informed before the evening. If we knew, we could have preferred to ask for bottled water or a glass of wine, this way we would give some profits to the restaurant administration. To be told about the charge on the tap water only at the end of the evening felt like a blatant theft. If the manager, feels the Groupon is not a good deal for the restaurant then he/she should cancel the deal, or place other conditions which offer some profits, so the customer knows about it before purchasing...

Came in and ordered two sodas and told the waiter we weren’t ready for food just yet. It’s been 30 minutes and the waiter still hasn’t come over. There’s four tables being used in the entire restaurant so it’s not like they’re busy. There’s also a resident cat which is cute, but not great for allergen guests. One table (of the four in use) had to go up to the bar and ask for the cat to be removed as it was sitting on their table.

When paying our tab I asked why he didn’t come and take our food order. The waiter said we only wanted drinks. Even if that was the case, we finished our drinks within 10 minutes and should’ve been approached and offered another round. This venue clearly doesn’t care about making money or...

Man man man...

It is a disgrace how bad the management is. We have made a reservation, and got called the same day for confirmation. As you expect there is a table ready for you.. After half an hour we still did not got a table. It is for the birthday of my father and it was a suprise. The whole suprise is ruined and clearly this restaurant feels more for revenue than guest satisfaction.

If you want to go to a place where the management sucks, please go here and you will be right where you want.

Maybe I am to critical because of my hospitality background, but this I have never experienced.
