Please read this review: health practices here are not safe. They sat us virtually on top of two other tables, there was no room at all, and of course the man sitting right next to me was coughing openly. They seat you so close together that it's like you're having a very intimate dinner...with complete strangers. This was extremely uncomfortable. Then, I watched in disgust as the woman sitting next to my partner continued to sneeze into her hands repeatedly while she was texting with her phone - she held her phone with both hands, sneezed into one, then returned to holding the phone with both hands. Then, she handed her phone to the waiter (who was also our waiter) to enter the WiFi password for her - the waiter took the phone in his bare hands, typed the password and gave the phone back to the customer. I then watched as he did not thereafter go wash his hands - he just continued serving people like it was nothing, and, to add insult to injury, his breath smelled badly. This type of poor health practice is dangerous for everyone in your restaurant.

The general vibe here is one of privileged arrogance - the restaurant makes it clear that they don't care at all about the customer experience - this is a "turn 'em and burn 'em" situation here.

The food we were served was fairly good, but I had already lost my appetite after being seated so close to strangers who were coughing and sneezing and sharing their contaminated devices with our waiter. My goal was to get out of there as quickly as possible.

TO THE RESTAURANT: Just because you have a ton of business doesn't mean you should cater to or accept all of it. Space your tables apart more, consider the guest experience, and accept that perhaps you'll lose some business to other local restaurants if you stop focusing on cramming people in and hurrying them through their meals. We attempted to come to your restaurant several times, but it was always too busy, however, we kept trying and were not at all rewarded for our patience.

My point is that if people walk away today because you are busy providing other guests with exemplary experiences, then those that walked away will try again another day.

Instead, what you're doing is totally...

A Delightful Fusion of New Zealand and Brazilian Flavors

Today, I had the pleasure of dining at Bakers & Roasters, located at Kadijksplein 16, 1018 AC Amsterdam, Netherlands (9WC7+32 Amsterdam). This vibrant eatery is a true culinary gem, offering a unique blend of New Zealand and Brazilian influences that create a memorable dining experience.

The Brazilian influence across the theme of the restaurant and its dishes is immediately noticeable and thoroughly charming. The décor is colorful and lively, reflecting the warmth and hospitality that is characteristic of Brazilian culture. This, combined with the laid-back New Zealand vibe, makes for a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

The menu at Bakers & Roasters is diverse and exciting, featuring a variety of dishes that cater to different tastes and dietary preferences. I was particularly impressed with the Brazilian-inspired dishes, which were flavorful and creatively presented. The mix of fresh ingredients and bold flavors made each bite a delight. The options are plentiful, ranging from hearty breakfasts to delicious brunch items and everything in between.

Service was quite quick, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Despite the bustling atmosphere, our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived at our table without much delay. The staff members were knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, enhancing our overall dining experience.

One of the standout features of Bakers & Roasters is the quality of the food. Each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring a high standard of taste and presentation. The portions were generous, providing great value for the price. Additionally, the coffee and fresh juices were exceptional, perfectly complementing the meal.

In summary, Bakers & Roasters offers a delightful dining experience with its unique fusion of New Zealand and Brazilian influences. The combination of delicious food, quick service, and friendly staff makes it a must-visit spot in Amsterdam. Whether you’re in the mood for a leisurely brunch or a quick bite, this restaurant is sure to leave you satisfied and...

Beautiful location, fantastic food and friendly staff. A good way to start your day if you ask me…

Location: (5/5) There is seating both inside and out. We sat outside and there was sufficient room between tables and they was just this really nice vibe around. The old YWAM building on one side, the view towards Nemo/Maritime museum on one and the beautiful Amsterdam buildings on the other. What more could you ask for. The vibe is also really great, a lot of people do visit here so there is a nice feeling of being surrounded by a good volume. Not too loud, but just right.

Food and drink: (5/5) Top notch! Presentation, flavours, textures and quantity all are fantastic. The plating is done really well as can be seen from the pictures. A lot of attention to detail to ensure the experience is fantastic. The flavours were brilliant.

(1) Power Breakfast: This was certainly a power breakfast. All the ingredients to keep you doing through the entire day. The cheese and beans were fantastic. All in all a really good option for those people looking for a healthy option I would say

(2) Eggs Benny: My friend had this and she absolutely loved it. It not only looked great, but tasted even better. So another great option to try.

(3) orange Carrot and ginger: This was lovely, so refreshing and flavourful all at the same time. Loved the colour as well.

Service: (5/5) Fantastic. All the staff were so kind and friendly. Wanted to call out Isdemar and Mich who waited for us and they were fantastic. Loved how they were checking up on us and the food as well as doing it with a nice friendly smile. Thanks for such a good experience.

Summary: (5/5) Fantastic option for a brunch. Do book a seat early because this place is so good, it can sometime be hard to get a seat. But totally worth it! You will thank...

This place (and it’s stable mate elsewhere in the city) are always busy. I’m fact I’m not sure if you can book online or not, but if you arrive on spec, expect to check in via QR code and then be told how long your wait is. Ours was 25m, so we took a walk along the canal by ARTIS (the zoo at rear) amusing ourselves with snatched glimpses of giraffes and elephants before lunch. Obviously currently very fashionable with young adults, there’s a definite ‘trendiness’ to it. But if like me/us, you are not of that demographic, don’t be put off. This is not a case of style over substance. The food is really good and although the menu is pretty much ‘modern American breakfast diner’, the ingredients are good and the chef knows how to put these plates together. I had the kiwi breakfast (pictured with the he sausage) and every part of it was spot on. My companions all had the B&R special with various amendments and were equally happy. Service was typically Dutch (slow and never exceptional. E.g. all our drinks were emptied and plates cleared before we saw a waiter to ask for a second drink. No desserts because the by the time the waiter shows up, the children have read their comics, our dinners are half digested and we need some air. But staff were friendly, meals arrived warm and the ambiance is buzzy. It’s a bit pricey (but what isn’t here in de dak these days. It’s no worse than many and better than some). I definitely recommend it as rare brunch spot.

We went there on Sunday morning (or 11:30am). I guess that’s my fault and I should check there is a waiting list. We had to sign up and after 40 minutes I got a text there is a table for us. We ordered coffe, which was really good but the waiter got our orders wrong and I got coffe with cow milk my friend ordered. Homemade kombucha unfortunately wasn’t tasty, same with mimosa (they bring orange juice and prosseco so you can add them on your own but that one cava is one of the worst). And then we waited for out breakfast. And waited. Around 45 minutes which I consider way too long for a simple breakfast place. I tried seasonal brioche with turkey and tomato harissa (I believe, can’t find seasonal card on your website). It was okay but I wasn’t in love, I think that harissa ruined that for me. I tried some of my mate’s pancakes and they were okay. We were eating outside and bees were flying all over us and trying to get on the food. In some point it was really hard trying to chase them and our table wasn’t the only one struggling. I don’t know if that was food or flowers around the seats. I have allergy for bee and they were quite agressive, it was really hard to get rid of them. I think staff should check on clients more ofter or not even because nobody did in those 45 minutes of waiting or after we got our dishes.
