My friend had abdominal surgery and they embarrassed him with an altercation over milk froth? Smug attitude. Truly disgusting service. I was embarrassed by your store today and disappointed.
I brought a barista-trained friend for the first time today to the store because previously it's been a great experience. We requested to hold the foam on a Cappuccino due to medical reasons for my friend who has had issues since he had surgery. (One would think this request is similar to a request for almond milk instead of regular milk?)
We were told they only serve with foam for a Cappuccino and would also not make an espresso with hot milk as an alternative - after I tried to find an acceptable solution. The server became quite smug laughing at the request repeating "this is how we serve it, sorry".
Surprised by the attitude and at which point my friend said it was bizarre and possibly lazy. The Manager on duty then decided to make the issue personal about the "lazy" comment without simply understanding the request and was deeply offended.
This led to a shouting match and the manager telling us to never come back again whilst trying to offer us free pastries? I was prepared to buy two cappuccinos and just scoop the foam off (simple), but I don't know why this couldn't be accommodated? There was one person in the queue behind us.
It's a stressful time for everyone, but I am deeply disappointed by the attitude, spirit of acceptance, understanding and general behaviour of the Scandinavian Embassy team today as a whole.
The Manager eventually yelled at us "don't ever come back here again" in his heated last jab... truly unreal.
Someone's personal medical situation should not be a joke, and my friend was embarrassed and angry at his request being mocked by staff. A little bit of respect would have not caused this to escalate into a shouting match. My friend may not have been 100% in the right, but as customers we were treated like dirt, which is why this review...

The first time the lady in the front desk came after me on the street saying that I hadnât paid for my bill (which I had when I ordered). It was a mistake on their system. Mistakes can happen, but her approach was very rude and totally unprofessional (even kept insisting and made me go back inside the store even after I had shown the proof of payment in my bank app). After a few months, finally dropped by again, and (what seems to be the same lady), made me feel very uncomfortable when I asked if I could seat inside by the waiting area with my take away coffee for a minute (it was raining outside). She said âwell, yes. But for next time you should know that Dutch law doesnât allow people to seat inside with take awayâ. Haha, first time I hear this and I would be surprised if the Dutch police would drop by to give them a fine just because of that. If I was in her shoes I would have said: âsure, let me then give you a cup and plate since weâre not supposed to have take away cups insideâ. Anyways, if Iâm leaving the comfort of my home and paying 8 euros for a coffee and a bun, all I expect is some friendly customer service (I do the same when I work with my clients). Never coming back here, there are plenty of nice options around. Also, Iâve seen a lot of nice employees there, so Iâm not sure why they would keep this rude lady in the front desk. Just easier to go to their RAI location. Always nicer service and more...
