Went in because they had gluten free in their menu, only to find out nothing is actually gluten free: they boil gluten free noodles with wheat ones, put soy sauce on the veggies. They should write gluten friendly instead of gluten free as it’s misleading.
Edit: The response of the business says it all really. They have asked me to point where they advertise as gluten free when I’d already mentioned it was in the menu. The response also confirms that they do not really understand the difference between those who are gluten free because they are on a diet and those who just simply cannot eat gluten. They say that they can cook rice noodles separately for those who have an allergy/intolerance; this was not presented to me as an option. In any case, if cross-contamination is the norm, that would be gluten friendly food as opposed to gluten free. They also mentioned that they “have never had complaints” - that could be because when people like me make complaints, you ask that they be removed. I’m not one to leave negative reviews, if you check my page you can see that most of my reviews are very positive. However, having experienced the difficulty of being able to find restaurants that are able to cater to dietary restrictions, it is important that people know before going into a restaurant that businesses like this one don’t really understand what these restrictions may entail. Therefore, I will be keeping y review up so that people can take their business elsewhere where gluten allergies and coeliac are taken...
Read moreThe best Ramen in Amsterdam!
Being properly welcomed: A nice and charming environment with an Asian style decoration offers, to me, the best view in Amsterdam’s grachten (canals). Go to the -1 floor and take a site at the window to enjoy your ramen even more!
The emplacement is very well placed next to the train station and close to the famous red district !
The food: All the food is great, I have been a delighted customer of them for numerous diners since a year now and I have never been disappointed. Vegan or not, their ramen is tasty, the quantity is enough, the presentation is perfect and the spices are well managed. Lots of good original versions and the most original one to me is the mushroom one (Kinoko) Start with a nice spicy tofu to have a light tasty starter, accompanied with a good Kaori Ranman Junmai Ginjo beer. Then go for all kind of ramens to enjoy a generous diner ;) The Uzu and Vanilla Mochi will properly end your diner ;)
And most importantly, the staff: All these times I have had the chance to be marvelously welcomed by Telmo and the team. They are all amazing and kind and that kindness deserve the best notation. Thanks for all guys, it’s always a pleasure to come by!

Read moreThis place in the middle of the busy Zeedijk looks really cool. Both upstairs and especially downstairs there is a beautiful view on the canals. Concrete walls with artwork on them. Boats passing. Love the vibe of the place.
They have three vegan ramen dishes and quite a few other vegan things on the menu.
The miso glazed aubergine was lovely and looked nice as well, cut in cubes. The kimchi was super spicy, as advertised, and full of flavor.
Unfortunately the vegan gyoza were bland. They looked good but did not taste like anything. That was a bit disappointing.
The vegan black tantanmen (black sesame seed base) was nice and subtle. Not too strong in flavors but I could appreciate it after a while. Nice and earthy and creamy.
My favorite was the Kinoko ramen (mushroom base). Full of nice different mushrooms and you could really taste that strong mushroom flavor in the soup as well.
Both ramen had plenty of toppings. Although I would have prefer some solid tofu instead the crumble, because that created a bit of a messy soup.
Had a yuzu tiramisu as dessert. Very nice and thick and creamy with a subtle hint of citrus. Looked great as well.
Staff was super friendly and I really liked the overall vibe...
