A place with a good potential but the rudeness of the staff makes it not worth your money.
Food; the place is entirely ok. Not worth the price, you can find better in the neighborhood but entirely ok. The espresso shots are of good quality. The chai is very obviously made from a powder, and only tastes like sugar, no real spice inside. The matcha that the owner is so proud of is unfortunately not the best quality, and has clams left inside. The cakes we had on our previous visit in the morning were very tasty, however at the end of the day they start looking dry in the glass cabinet.
Service; this is where the place unfortunately looses the most stars. The young girls working there, may try their hardest, but itâs hard to counter the very rude old man behind the bar. He made other customers feel bad for not speaking proper English, overcharged us for drinks, and upon us trying to have a conversation with him, he claimed to be the âexpertâ and said that âwe donât know enough to discuss with himâ. We tried to talk to him, but the rudeness was really overwhelming. The rudeness of the old man (the owner?) is also a theme that really comes up in all the lower reviews of the place.
Atmosphere; the place is decorated very nice and cozy, has plants and comfortable places to sit. The bathroom was quite dirty, and the floor was completely wet, which is a slight oversight. Not allowed to use...
Read moreMy friend and I went to Wandu for a coffee. When my friend left, I ordered a croissant and wanted to stay for a few minutes before going to an appointment. I was asked to move tables for a bigger group. There was only a small space in between other tables so I didn't want to squeeze in for a few minutes and wanted to quickly eat the croissant at the table or I offered to have it in a bag to take away. Of course I understand that you want to sit multiple people at one table but you also should talk to your customers in a friendly manner. The older guy behind the counter didn't really listen to me and was very rude saying I wasn't the queen after I said that it's not an appropriate way to talk to customers. He kept trying to convince me to squeeze in the small spot when I offered that I can just take the croissant away and that it wasn't worth it for me to sit down for 5 min anyways. The guy already seemed moody when serving the cafe beforehand in the first place too.
So definitely NOT recommend this place and there are many other nicer...
Read moreThe coffee is nice, they have a nice marzocco coffee machine, and the cups they serve is also nice, BUT the way they serve is terrible, I entered and was looking for a place to sit, and before I did that I was immediately asked what I would like to have, and I order. Then again I was approaching to the table, but immediately before sitting down, I was asked to pay. Later on I saw other people coming in and was not treated the same way! Afterwards I saw a note sayin this is not a workplace, and I was about to do just a short call with my laptop, so I asked with smiling and showing the sign, and dont get me wrong I totally understand, and out of politeness I wanted to ask, although there was only one table except me, then I was told that I can work with my laptop only half an hour! I also live in the neighborhood for 3 years and never seen such a behaviour from any of the other places! There are many other places where you can get good coffee, plus a...
