Yemen Restaurant — Restaurant in Amsterdam

It was a bad experience for me. We start with the service, who do not know what they have on the menu and do not have enough experience basically random. I asked for (mandi) and he answered me that they do not have it and that the zurbian is the same of mandi!!! at the end I had ( Madfoun ) and to be honest it was good. The (fahsa) was very bad , large pieces of meat and without flavors same for the ( Akda). As for the bread I did not know what type it was It was thick and undercooked. What caught my attention was the four large pressure cookers in front of me without any consideration for any safety inside the restaurant. The food would be good for foreigners who do not know real Yemeni food. We ask you to improve the service, improve the quality of the food, and presenting a better picture of...

The food at Yemen is incredible. We had a few of the chicken and fish dishes and were pleasantly surprised at the depth of flavors as well as the execution - perfect rice, perfectly cooked chicken, and THE BREAD. The bread is what was our favorite. You can’t go wrong with any of their proteins, we really wish we would have also ordered their fava bean stew but wifey thought it would be too much.

The bread is made fresh right in the front and you see the guy knead the dough and throw it in the oven.

Service was interesting as I went with my wife and they did not really direct their service to her whatsoever.

If you’re a rice lover, this is definitely the place for you! They serve amazing Yemeni dishes that are authentic, aromatic, and super flavorful. I go here almost every week because it honestly feels like homemade food. The lamb chunks are cooked to perfection ..so tender and full of flavor , and the smoked rice is something you don’t easily find in Amsterdam. The chicken dishes are also delicious, with a unique and distinctive taste. Service can be a bit up and down at times, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Overall, this spot is a real hidden gem and highly recommended for anyone craving...
