Such great food and amazing interior design, but hands down THE worst ‘service’ I’ve ever experienced. Actually one of the rudest people I’ve ever met even outside the service industry, just in general. Other Dover Dog locations were really nice, would def travel an additional 20 mins to get the great food without the horrible people.
EDIT to respond to the reply below:
I get that, the pandemic was actually a trying time for many people. And yet I've seen no one else SCREAMING for 5 minutes at customers in front of everyone (apart from being plain rude, it's simply also not that smart) and then just apologizing in private later. Not to mention the incredibly slow service (30 mins for a coffee?? An additional 30 mins for a milkshake?? We were literally the first customers, no one else was there, I don't even know how it is possible to take this long, but that's a whole different story). Which we couldn't even mention, cause again, you just started screaming. All we could do was ask you to please calm down a bit, which just led to more screaming and screaming.
And come on. It is not rocket science to scan a QR code. Which I had. Would've been more than happy to show, but you never even bothered to ask. Also would've been happy to wear a mask. Other than you I take the pandemic seriously, and support measures to prevent the spread of a deadly illness. Again, the first customers that day. Could've asked any time. It's simple, it's safe, why not try it!?
For future reference, if you try that apology thing again, maybe actually apologize for your behavior. Could try smth like "Hey, we know it is inexcusable to scream at our customers in front of everybody and then go on to blame the government and we sincerely apologize for our behavior," instead of "Oh so sorry that you did not enjoy your time with us aka the being screamed at" (weird, huh?).
So yea, horrible person, reply justifying that and blaming others, still good food, still good interior,...
Read moreTruly a horrible experience!!! I was excited to try this place out, I asked for a table for one, got seated and than ignored.
Not only did I feel completely invisible, but it felt as if it was deliberately done by the waiters to test my patience, as if my table did not even belong to the diner?
After approx 35-40min of being ignored and seeing multiple other guests getting seated and served, I left the place without even getting a menu to my table.
The expierence felt targeted and isolated. Never have I been treated this badly dining out. Both the female waiters where unprofessionally arrogant and nonchalant and had zero sense of service.
I don’t recommend anyone going here alone. As you will most likely be ignored or be the...
Read moreI've been to Drovers a couple of times. The food is always nice (4 stars for food, 2 for overall experience) and it's great that they have high chairs for kids. However, the service was seriously lacking borderline rude. I work in hospitality so I realize that it's difficult when it's busy. When I walked in the server saw me and no hello. It took 20 minutes to get a menu and we had to ask twice. It took about half an hour to get water and our coffee and the waiter was just annoyed when we reminded him. Our food took an hour. It's really too bad and kills the experience when you feel like YOU are inconveniencing the waiter just by asking for a menu...
