This nice restaurant is located in "The Valley" in Amsterdam Zuidas! This is one of the most recent buildings in the area and is easily accessible by car, tram, bus, or metro from Station Zuid. There is also a convenient parking garage below the building, although it is not the most affordable option.
They specialize in Chinese hot pot, which offers an excellent selection of beef, seafood, and vegetarian options for dipping in the flavorful broth. The friendly staff was very helpful and attentive, providing us with a pleasant dining experience in a welcoming atmosphere.
While we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the restaurant, there was one aspect that didn't quite meet our expectations. We were informed that there is a maximum dining time of 2 hours, which we felt could be more customer-friendly. However, aside from that, we highly recommend this place if you're looking for a unique Chinese food experience. The food is both healthy and tasty, thanks to the flavorful broth in which it is cooked.
It works as follows: you'll be provided with a tablet that displays all the food and drink options. Simply choose whatever you would like to eat, click on it, and the total amount of your order will be shown. This feature is great because you'll know exactly how much your bill will be. Once you've made your selections, you place the order, and that's it.
I highly recommend booking in advance because this popular place tends to fill up quickly. I booked a few days in advance for 2, and we got the...
Read moreThis is the first time that I try this very famous and popular hotpot restaurant in Amsterdam. I would like to comment in following points: About food. This restaurant is for Sichuan style hotpot, which means the spicy broth is the most important selling point. I have not chosen the spiciest broth but the middle level can already be quite spicy. The treatment of many food is not entirely like those in China but the taste is ok. However among all I do not recommend ham sausages (午餐肉).Either it is because that they cut them too thin or the ham sausage itself is not of good quality, they tend to scatter very easily after cooking, which is quite unusual. For dessert we have chosen icy cubes (冰粉)and it is very good when you eat too much spicy food. 2.the service. The service is quite good and efficient. However it is a very busy restaurant so reservation is a must and you have got only 2 hours for your meal. That somewhat puts on some pressures as you have a deadline for both visiting and leaving the restaurant. Besides this, I think the issue is the money/quality ratio. I think this restaurant is somewhat overpriced. The broth requires 15 euro and a bottle of 0.75ml water charges 7 euro. As it is really spicy and salty then you can imagine a large consumption of beverages is expected. It is inevitable to wonder why don’t people just buy all the ingredients and do hotpot at home as all these are easily accessible at any Asian...
Read moreI absolutely love coming here! Yuan’s Hot Pot delivers an authentic experience that is hard to find elsewhere and I've been here several times. The hot pot is absolutely delicious, and the quality of the ingredients is remarkable. The restaurant sources its ingredients directly from China, which means the flavors are as authentic as you’d get in the mainland. It’s like taking a culinary trip to China without leaving Amsterdam.
The broths are perfectly seasoned, offering a variety of options to cater to different tastes, from mild to extra spicy. My favorite is the sichuan spicy soup base. The selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables is everything you can think of, and everything is always fresh and beautifully prepared. I especially appreciate the attention to detail, from the quality of the slightly thicker cuts of meat to the assortment of sauces available to customize your dipping experience.
What also stands out is the exceptional service. The staff is attentive, super friendly, and always ready to help with recommendations or to explain the best way to enjoy the meal. Yuan’s Hot Pot is part of a well-known chain in China, and it truly lives up to its reputation here. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic hot pot experience. I’ll definitely be coming...
