We had rooftop reservations that were unfortunately canceled due to the weather, but the team at Chicken & Lobster went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 14 without hesitation. The service here is truly what made the experience memorableāAlethia (our server) was absolutely FANTASTIC! She was detail-oriented, made excellent menu suggestions, stayed attentive throughout the night, and had such a warm, welcoming vibe. She truly elevated our evening.
Everyone in our group ordered different cocktails, and I personally loved their strawberry lemon dropsārefreshing, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They start you off with fresh warm bread and truffle butter, which immediately sets a high expectation for whatās to come.
Unfortunately, because we were dining later in the evening (around 10ā11 PM), it seemed the kitchen may have been winding down a bit. While the lobster, steak, and chicken all had great underlying flavor, each was noticeably overcooked. Weāre chalking it up to timing and definitely plan to return during earlier hoursāAlethia deserves a midday visit and a second round to show us what the kitchen can really do.
Overall, Iād rate our experience a solid 8.5/10āthe service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was great. While the star dishes didnāt fully deliver this time, I absolutely recommend giving them a try. Weāll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice location and great atmosphere all made better by the euphoria felt when vacationing in paradise. Food was decent. Wait was exceptionally long for our food considering we were one of only 2 guest at the time. Soup still came out warm at best, not hot. I ordered a coke after I ate my appetizers and before the end of the all of the little ice that was in the drink had melted. I was surprised that when I asked for additional ice and accepted the offer for a refill that I was charged an additional $4. Our bill was a $140 and the manager fought very hard on the issue of me paying $8 for two drinks, that were both still on the table, or removing one drink from the bill since I only wanted a drink with ice. It seemed as though he felt were trying to somehow get over. The place is mediocre and benefits from a captive audience that requires no more than food that is barely acceptable, convenient, and can at least compete with the TGI Friday's accross the street. Our waiter and server were both great. Focus on how beautiful Aruba is and you will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had a lovely date night at Chicken & Lobster. I saw on the menu an item called āfresh catchā ($29), so I asked what the catch of the day was. The staff told me it was whole red snapper. I went for it. It came out thoughtfully presented with veggies and polenta, but it was a little over cooked and tough. Not the best whole red snapper Iāve had in Aruba, but I still ate every bit of it because thatās how my Taiwanese mother raised me (eyeballs and all). My husbands grouper filet was the better choice; tender and perfectly cooked and the wine sauce accompanying it was delicious, and the Mac and cheese side was a generous portion and yummy. When the bill came, I learned that the red snapper was actually $45, and not $29. I guess it was my misunderstanding, but better communication about the priceā A menu insert, a sign, or verbal confirmation would have been appreciated on our end. If your thrifty, like me, save room for dessert where you can order a combination of three desserts for the price of two. I hope this review helps you to...
