Kalibra Bar — Restaurant in Aruba

I recently returned from a trip to Aruba, and I wanted to share a troubling experience I had at Kalibra on the weekend. I went there with my girlfriends for some dancing, but what I witnessed near the main bar was alarming. I saw the bouncers aggressively confronting and physically assaulting several customers who had just arrived. It was distressing, i personally saw workers take the jewelry from one of the individuals who was attacked to the point of unconsciousness while the assault continued.

What shocked me even more was that bouncers from South Beach club were also participating in the violence. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and it's concerning that Kalibra continues to employ individuals who engage in such actions. A group of the bouncers local friends joined in on the chaos, creating a mob-like atmosphere attacking these tourists.

I've never encountered anything like this in Aruba before, and it was extremely distressing. I had a great experience at this establishment last year, but this incident has left me feeling unsafe.

I strongly encourage anyone considering a visit to Kalibra to think twice about wearing valuable items, as your safety may be at risk. I am writing due to a incident I witnessed well at Kalibre. Shortly after a small group of happy tourists entered the bar, a violent altercation occurred where the security staff targeted them. I observed a prolonged physical confrontation where the visitors sustained significant injuries.

The aggression from the bouncers continued even after the tourists where incapacitated. I also saw security personnel taking items such as jewelry and wallets from the visitors during the incident. I am including a photograph take while leaving the area which depicts a small part of the physical confrontation. In the photograph, one of the tourists is on the ground not awake, and the staff continues to assault them. The individual without a shirt is also one of the bouncers. This was just a small depiction of the chaos that was happening.

Other patrons who attempted to intervene and stop the staff were also targeted. I also saw locals take belongings who looked to friends with the bouncers.

As a frequent visitor to Aruba, I am deeply concerned by the level of violence I observed. I believe the actions of the security staff demonstrate a failure to provide a safe environment for patrons. From what I witnessed I also believe this was targeted, the bouncers saw something of value and wanted it. I was deeply disturbed by what I saw. This was a serious assault and theft.
