I usually do not like writing bad reviews, yet both good and bad reviews can be learned from. We went to eat there today, to try out the Top Chef dish for the competition. We had already had 5 dishes of Top Chef competitors so far. And each time we shared the dish, even had 3 on the same day. At Tango we were told we are not allowed to share the dish, unless we got another dish too. Of course that is ridiculous so we told them they are the first restaurant to tell us something like that. The manager got defensive when we asked why we could not share the plate, saying they were instructed differently on the subject matter. Weird when we are charged 6$ for an extra plate (containing just a few potato wedges and some vegetables) just because of their "no share" "rule". After further explanation, we were told that the dish needs to be of a specific $ value to be shared. 😑 (Upsell much??)....no comments on that. It was my first time visiting Tango and I will not be going again nor will I be recommending it to anyone. As for the Top Chef dish, The chicken was dry, the tastes did not mix smoothly with the diverse items in the dish. The only 2 great tasting items were the filet mignon and the potato wedges. The presentation was also quite an art. The waiter did treat us amazingly and apologized for what happened, even though it was not his fault at all. Regardless we ate the Top Chef dish since it is right to do so to choose the Top Chef fair and square and cast our vote.

Im a native and love to have dinner at various restaurants on the island. I've been craving a nice piece of steak for about 2 weeks and have been searching for a good cut. My gf invited me to a pizzeria but when I saw Tango restaurant, I told her I'm really craving a nice piece of steak. Service was good, the room was kind of hot even though they had air-conditioning. For appetizer, I had escargot. It was a bit warm, but not hot enough, so I asked the waitress to heat it. She complied, and it was awesome. Then she brought the main course. I've ordered a cowboy steak primerib and as side order garlic mashed potato . Both came warm but not hot enough. So I've asked the waitress to heat the mashed potatoe. The steak was medium, and I didn't ask the waitress to heat it because it would ruin the meat. We've paid a good amount of money but they didn't reach my expectations. I've asked the waitress for a discount and she ignored me totally so we didn't give any tips. We had to wait 10 minutes before we got our change. The guy handling the payments was talking to a group and taking their orders. I'm a sangria lover, but theirs tasted like grape juice and vodka, not red wine.

I was really excited to try Tango after hearing rave reviews & looking for an El Gaucho replacement (since it became.too commercial & a tourist trap, my opinion). Located in a heavy trafficked tourist area, it appeared to be popular. We were greeted having reservations and walked to our table. Nice decor. The waiter was pleasent but seemed uninterested in making any effort with us. We ordered the Chef's Sampler appetizer, the bread appetizer, and our meals. My wife ordered the seafood macaroni dish but asked for only shrimp (no mussels or calamari), while I asked for a Cowboy Ribeye cooked medium. We never received our appetizers, even after I asked where they were and was told by our waiter that they were coming shortly. My wife's macaroni dish (although good) had mussels and calamari in it, despite our request that they be excluded, and the steak I had been looking forward to all week was cooked well done. We were very disappointed in our visit. However, the manager did address our concerns politely. Not a good first impression especially since there are many steakhouses on the island. Doubt we will return.

Just came from having dinner here this evening.

My wife and I are here for our honeymoon and went out tonight to have dinner. We didn't know exactly where we were going but we knew the area we wanted to go. I should have looked at the menu and gone somewhere else. It wasn't that it was bad but it was everything was just so so and for the prices they're charging so so doesn't cut it.

I worked in the restaurant business as a younger man for nearly 20 years and I am normally a very good tipper, even more so in the time of Covid as people try to keep their restaurants open and wait staff need to continue to make a living that take out doesn't cover.

The service was ok but it was clear they didn't have enough waitstaff on. Our waitress was nearly impossible to understand with English not her primary language and the masks everyone here who works seems to be forced to wear, despite virtually no tourists wearing them except where required like in hotel lobbies.

We had to point out everything we wanted and as we couldn't communicate well we couldn't ask about suggestions or specials. The prices for some of the steaks were really high and then they didn't include sides which were really also high, like $5 for mashed potatoes that were just ok.

We started with calamari which was just ok. The mustard side sauce just didn't really go with it and the calamari itself was a little rubbery. This can be tough to cook right but at a restaurtant projecting this caliber it should have been perfect.

Our sides were brought out by support staff but minutes before our meals so they were no longer warm, if they ever were by the time we could eat. We had gotten brussel sprouts for sides, again they were just ok. Again, we couldn't get more drinks as I wanted to switch to a white wine with my chicken from the red my wife and I had been drinking. That lowered the bill for the restaurant and server and left me wanting a nice glass of white wine I didn't dare ask for as it would have taken too long.

While eating the hostess was cleaning tables and while cleaning the adjacent table sprayed cleaner onto our table and on my wifes $36 tenderloin. My wife stopped eating at that point.

Finally, the bill came and we noticed a $20 service charge added to the bill. We asked what it was for but the language barrier made it difficult so I asked if it was for a tip and she said it was. That was ok as it's about what I would have given her on our $125 bill.

In closing, again this place has tasty food, the main meals were delicious but by with all the other options here on the island and it being rather pricey we thought it...

Well, all was fine at this grill until we sat down. Then we were approached by our waiter “Bo”. From that point it was a disaster. “Bo” argued with us starting g from Juan’s Margarita that was not salted and Juan wanted it re done, he refused, and told him next time they will salt the rim. Then it was butter for our Bread. We asked him for more butter and he acted like it was an inconvenience for him to get. Then it was the soup, when we ordered, we wanted two Lobster Bisques, one for Juan and one for myself. When only one was delivered we said where is the second one, and the kind lady that delivered it, was confused and thought we only ordered one. We said, we clearly told the waiter “Bo” , two Bisques. She said she would get us another one. Then that waiter “Bo” came too our table to argue with us that we only ordered one, with attitude. I just fumed and said he was wrong , that all three of us at the table heard when we had ordered two. He was so Busy looking and laughing at the table next to us that he blocked us out. He stormed away from us. Every time he did something to us , he would walk behind us giggling and smirking at us at the host table. The last straw was when Jim asked “Bo” for another napkin and this belligerent waiter pointed at Jim’s lap and said, you already have one. Well that just popped my cork, I bellowed out loudly, “ENOUGH” in front of everyone and the host/manager, who had been watching the whole evening unfold with this waiter. I demanded a new waiter and to get him out of our sight. The Host came to our rescue and apologized for all that happened to us. While behind the host this guy stood laughing at us and Juan caught him and “Bellowed out, what are you laughing at, this is not funny” to the very Hosts surprise. Then he gave us a new waiter”Eduardo who was very nice to help us.They gave us a free drink each but too me that was not enough. When we got our check, it was $164 without any compensation. They should have at least given us one free meal to apologize for all that had happened, but noooooooo!!! The food here was very inadequate. I had ordered Shrimp Scampi and got these awful very few shrimps with no garlic flavor, and soy reduction to dip them in as you can see in the photo. What and awful dinner it was and we will never ever go back to this place that we have been too before. Our overall feeling was that he realized we were Gay and didn’t like us for that. So he was rude from the beginning. To all in Aruba, avoid this place Like the plague. It was not a very pleasant experience and the food was sub standard for the...

We went there with a group of 8 after making a reservation earlier that afternoon online. We were seated outside right next to a performer singing older top 40 hits with amplified background music, which was distracting and not pleasant for us. The server had good intentions, was friendly, and seemed to be well trained in answering questions, but she was not anticipating our needs and offering helpful suggestions. We started with escargot, which contained mostly mushrooms and snails with little flavor. The caprese salad oddly included generous slices of raw onion and little basil. The antipasta plate's hams were quite flavorful, but we only got 3 small slices of French bread and never received another serving of bread even after two requests. Rolls were also served but were undercooked. The quality of all of our steaks was subpar. Not Choice quality - too fiberous and chewy. The t-bone was a thinner cut (about 1/2") and we left more than half uneaten. The Argetinian butterfly fillet was dry. We saw the commercial steak seasoning in the kitchen that was doused on all the meats. The mushroom sauce seemed like it came from a cream of mushroom soup. The peppercorn cognac sauce for the steak seemed like it was mass produced - over-salted and no discernable peppercorns or cognac in it. The mixed vegetables were simple steamed carrots and beans, and they were overcooked. When the server delivered the bill, she pushed us to give the restaurant a rating on trip advisor and had a card with the name of the place and the servers' names and asked to mention them in the rating. She also said the included 18% gratuity was split among all staff and she didn't get an extra share of the tip. As we were walking away, the host peaked at the receipt to see what we left for an additional tip.

It did seem that other parties enjoyed themselves as they were leaving. That being said, a group of 3 next to us ordered the $125 Tomahawk steak and had to send it back. Also, we didn't like to have to put up with other people smoking in the patio while we were eating. Not a good experience...
