De Buren Curaçao — Restaurant in Curaçao

Do yourself a favor and just DON’T. Walk on by, and thank me later! We stumbled upon this restaurant and were seated right away and that is about as good as it got! We ordered waters, wine and an appetizer to start, the Dip N Share, which was described as a platter or chips, salsa, guacamole and queso to share.

After 20 minutes without our water, wine or appetizer, we had to flag our server down and ask if our drinks and food were perhaps forgotten. She promised to check on it. Ten more minutes waiting so we ask another server—or maybe the manager—where were our drinks and food? She says she will check. Our server then returned and said they can’t find the wine opener and someone had to run to get another at another establishment one block away. Again we wait, and wait, and wait. Then I witnessed the young lady at the bar opening the tab on the wine bottle with her teeth!!!! Just gross. Fast forward to the Dip n Share app, once it was delivered…wish I had a picture of the small cereal bowl of broken pieces of tortilla chips, two mini (ketchup sized) condiment cups filled with cheese whiz, one (same size) salsa, and one mini size (questionable) guacamole!

During our visit, we watched patron, after patron after patron, have to walk up to the bar area, and ask for their bills in order to check out and leave. My husband made the mistake of ordering a second glass of wine from the server, after 10 minutes of waiting she came back and asked, did you ever get your glass of wine—and do you still want it???

The only good thing about our visit was the young man who was the food runner. He was very professional and a hustler!!

To sum it up, walk on by!!!! If I could give a negative 10 star I would. I wish that I had read their reviews before stopping here to give them our business, as it seems many have had the EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE and dissatisfaction as we did. There are so many more businesses here that will deliver exceptional service and food, and you will leave satisfied and wanting to...

There was nothing remarkable about our first visit here about two years ago, but last week's return visit was so bad that we will never go back. When we arrived it took a couple minutes to even get attention to get a table. We sat at a table that hadn't been bussed yet, with assurance that someone would come clear it shortly. After asking 3 different times for someone to even come to the table (and taking the empty glasses and bottles to the bar ourselves), we finally got a server after about 20 minutes of waiting. However, she was too busy talking on the phone to give us proper attention, resulting in one drink AND one food order to get missed. She never once checked on the table, and we had to flag her down once the rest of our group had eaten to ask about the missing order. With barely an acknowledgement, much less an apology, she walked away. We figured out that she was just going to put in the order, so my husband followed her to the bar area to let her know we didn't want it anymore because everyone was done eating, and just wanted to make sure that it and the missing drink were not on the check. The check that she never bothered to give us, and we had to go to the bar again to ask for it. Surprise, surprise, the missing items were never removed. This was the first visit to Curacao for several members of our group, it was disappointing to have taken them somewhere with such a terrible lack of service, and I can only hope that this doesn't negatively impact their impression of the...

A notice to visitors .. don’t go here. It’s a total tourist trap. The staff are unbelievably rude and inattentive. The woman who served us was so blasé that when we arrived she was standing there looking at us and I had to ask her if we could have dinner. Her reply was ‘yes’ in which I then asked her if we sit ourselves down or?? When we got to our table, we waited for ages and put her on a timer and agreed if she wasn’t back by the time my timer ran out, we were leaving. Shock horror, she made it back just in time. She took our order, couldn’t tell us anything about the wine besides ‘it says it on the label but i don’t know’ ..no offer to look at the label or anything. She took our order, got it wrong as an item was left out and rarely came back at all. When we were done, i told her We’d finished and never saw her again. Once I flagged her down for the bill, she said ‘ok’ and never came back so we went and paid at the bar. I tried telling the bar staff about the experience, but they couldn’t had cared less and just gave me the bill amount. Nothing more.
