I would rank La Boheme at about a 5 out of 10 in my opinion. The 16oz smoothies seemed overpriced at $6 US( even though the menu states $5.50) What I did like, however was that the fruits were fresh, not a pre-made mix from a box like you will find at the majority of stops. Avoid the Pineapple Express smoothie at all costs. It was awful, unless it was just made incorrectly. The chicken salad sandwich looked like one you would find in your fourth grade lunchbox- simple white bread, lettuce and tomato. Would need about 3 of these to satisfy your hunger. I ordered the Curacao Gazond, which was noted as $5 US. However the server did not explain properly that my revisions of no cheese and warm egg on a wrap somehow classified it as a fajita. This should have been explained as I was charged $8 for the small wrap instead of the $5 I expected to pay. To top things off, all of the ingredients were falling out, and the egg was only in half of it. The second time we visited, I ordered another smoothie, as they were the only shop open that was to our liking. I had to swallow paying for the $6 fruit smoothie. We also ordered a lemonade, which must have been in a 10 oz cup (less due to the ice) which was $2!!! What a ripoff. In my boyfriends words- "this place let us down a...
Read moreI recently visited La Bohème in Curaçao and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience due to one of the waitstaff. A young male waiter, who appeared to be Latin American with neck tattoos, seemed overwhelmed and forgot nearly all of our orders. While I understand that mistakes happen, this was beyond a simple oversight—it felt like he lacked the necessary attention to detail or training for the role.
To make matters worse, he seemed to have difficulty navigating between English and Spanish, which only added to the confusion. We spoke spanish but he told us he didn’t know any but when we ordered in english, he forgot all of our orders. This left our table frustrated, as we had to repeatedly remind him of what we had ordered.
As much as I enjoyed the ambiance and food, service plays a huge role in the overall dining experience. Management should seriously consider how poorly trained or inattentive staff impacts customer retention. This type of service is enough to turn away repeat customers, and I, unfortunately, may not return because of it.
I hope the restaurant addresses this issue for the sake of its...
Read moreWanted to try this place because the arepa reviews are amazing. I was incredibly disappointed with the service and food quality. My friend and I ordered two of the following: tostones, beef and cheese arepas, curry chicken salad arepas. It took about 35min for them to serve us our food while we watched other tables that arrived at the restaurant after we ordered our food get their meals before us. When we finally got served, the tostones were so hard they could chip the plate. The arepas themselves were also very hard and flavorless. The filling inside the arepas were well seasoned but the beef ones were overcooked. The curry chicken filling was amazing. An employee who was not our waitress asked if we needed more drinks and when we asked for more tap water, she told us that wasn’t an option and we had to purchase bottles of water…. Strange! I am actively telling my friends to avoid this restaurant. The live music was...
