I had the worst experience at this restaurant today, despite its 4.5 rating on Google. I had been here a year ago, and while it was expensive, the food and service were good. Today, I went with six Indian friends, and from the moment we arrived, the waiter seemed upset with us for no reason.
Indian culture is all about sharing food, and it’s completely normal for us to order the way we did: four curries, four starters and around six rotis to share among seven people. However, the waiter rudely said, “It’s not allowed to order four curries for seven people; we run a business here,” and added, “Dutch people know this and order one dish per person.”
When we were leaving, we politely tried to discuss this, expressing that we respected their business but found the communication disrespectful. Instead of addressing this, he made further offensive remarks, saying, “Indians have a mentality of thinking in rupees and converting euros to rupees. Dutch people don’t do this.” For the record, we live and work here, earning in euros, so we have no idea what “mentality” he was referring to.
This discriminatory behavior was shocking and unacceptable. The food itself was average, and with such rude service, I cannot recommend this place....
Read moreAbsolutely love this restaurant. Visited many Indian restaurant in several countries - this is the best so far. Food is freshly prepared (chicken tika masala was sizzling on the serving plate). Starter was excellent, as well as all the dishes on the menu. The desert (indian ice cream, I forgot the name) was so refreshingly different from ice creams I am used to. The service was fantastic, friendly people ready to help you. The atmosphere in this small restaurant is relaxed with guests chatting loud (big plus for me). Finally, the price: four of decided we will share, so we ordered twice a menu for two person (chicken tika masala and mixed grill). With starters, main dishes and deserts, plus (more than) two beers per person, the bill was under 150 euros. Really cheep....
Read moreAmazing place! My partner and I are so happy that we found this gem, right in the middle of Delft centre. The food is great, you can never go wrong with the butter chicken and the korma chicken( my favourites personally), The service is excellent, very friendly and thoughtful staff, always there to cater to your needs. Also I would like to mention that the food is served very quickly so we never have to wait too long. I have only given one star less for atmosphere because it is good to keep in mind that this is also a favourite of many families and children are a part of the usuals so some noise is to be expected. Overall great place, we are guilty of eating here whenever we feel like...
