Bakker Bart is a bread & pastry chain throughout the Netherlands where fresh breads and pastries are on the menu. In B.B. on the Demer in Eindhoven there is a sufficient variety of breads to choose from and the prices are good. The employees behind the counter are often young students, speak at least basic English and are friendly and caring about your order. They prepare the breads well by Dutch standards and taste pretty well. Do not expect high-cuisine pastries, this is not the place for that. You choose to eat here mostly to silence your hunger quickly and without emptying your wallet.

Bakker bart is really well known in the Netherlands for baked goods, yet after getting a simple croissant and a 'coffee' I really wonder why. I have never seen a sadder croissant, this includes the homekits that people use in their ovens. I was hoping for at least some buttery creamy fresh taste but it reminded me of soggy cardboard that a cat may have used as a litterbox. The coffee was of Dutch average qualify....
