De Smederij — Restaurant in Groningen

Very chill and awesome atmosphere! The food and the drinks are varied and very tasty! The staff are welcoming and make you feel instantly at home. I found it very interesting to learn about the history of the bar from the barman when I was there, it was an old blacksmiths and the current owners have kept the integrity of the history of the place alive. I liked it a lot. I also went on the weekly jazz night where they host local jazz groups that are highly talented from the jazz school of groningen. The vibe was buzzing and it attracted a big variety of people. Definitely check it out if you want to experience a little bit of groningen history and a hidden gem...

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. In einer Seitenstraße, weg vom Trubel, eine urige alte Kneipe mit wunderbaren vegetarischen (und auch Fleisch) Gerichten. Wir suchen immer das besondere, fernab vom Mainstream, und vorallem mit einer vegetarischen Küche die die Vielseitigkeit dessen zeigt. Es ist hier familiär, herzlich, hier wird gelebt. Wir haben Rotebeete Bällchen Bieterballen (6 stuks) vegan)mit Kapernmayonaise, Ziegenkäsesalat mit Crainberry (Geitenkaasje op salade met appel, honing en pijnboompitjes)gegessen. Mein Mann KNoblauchbrot (Kaas-knoflookbroodjes uit de oven)und ein Gericht mit Gemüse, Walnüssen und Gorgonzola (Cajun-ovenschoteltje met chips, prei, walnoten, appel, paprika, en gorgonzola (kan ook veganistisch) mit 3 Beilagen in Extraschälchen: Pommes, Salat, Gemüse. Wir waren pappensatt und es war sehr lecker, auch das niederl. Bier dazu. Es gab auch eine deutsche und englische Menükarte, ein Dagschotel (Tagesgericht). Der Köchin die uns per Handschlag begrüßte war es wichtig das wir das Essen genießen können und satt werden. Die Preise ware angemessen.
