North-African dishes for a moderate price. The food was definitely worth it! We ordered an appetizer in the form of different small bread toppings, I immediately loved how much choice there was on the menu for these toppings. Afterwards we each had a main dish, mine was a tajine specialty with lamb neck and a variety of vegetables. My partner had a chicken filled with pistache with dates and fruits and vegetables. Both of these dishes were quite large and definitely filling. I also recommend the couscous which was very tasty and good portioned. The staff was very friendly and made some small talk and jokes which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Very polite people as well! The interior of the restaurant is very fitting for their cuisine. It might look a bit dark but it was still ambient.

A while ago we went there for dinner with a reservation and after saying so the waitress just left and we assumed that we can sit anywhere. The place is darkly lit and seeing the food was difficult, there were also flies. After sitting down we waited for at least 20 min before the only worker at the time came rushing and said that she forgot about us. Other than the awful service, the food was nice. We tried the cold meze that came with more than enough bread. The chicken with fruits was too sweet but we were warned about it. The lamb dishes are delicious and I recommend that one.

Dit was echt een onverwachte vondst in Groningen. Voor degenen die houden van sharing! Noord-Afrikaanse mezze: kies er per persoon 4 als voorgerecht en je hebt een tafel vol lekkernijen om samen van te genieten. En als je van pittig houdt: de Harissa smaakt écht en is écht scherp! Combineer met een warme mezze en een salade en je hebt een heerlijke, verse en gezonde maaltijd. De combinaties waren verrassend en enorm smaakvol. Leuk detail: in dezelfde straat zit een Noord-Afrikaanse bakker en kruidenier ("Le Souk") en hun eigen kruidenmengsels worden gebruikt in deze gerechten. De bediening was fantastisch en zó vriendelijk. Wij aten er op een dag dat het buiten 30+ graden was (en binnen misschien wel 35+). Eén van de medewerkers bood aan om een ventilator op onze tafel te richten, maar kwam helaas tot de ontdekking dat er geen stopcontact aanwezig was. De gedachte en bedoeling van dit gebaar waren voor ons echter al genoeg! We hebben meerdere malen gevraagd om karafjes met koud kraanwater om de hitte te trotseren. Deze werden met ijsblokjes geserveerd. Tot onze absolute verbazing werd dit niet eens in rekening gebracht! Hier kunnen vele andere restaurants een voorbeeld aan nemen! Ik zou super graag 5 sterren willen geven, maar de inrichting was vrij sober en er zaten gaten in de bekleding van de stoelen. Renovatie is natuurlijk al moeilijk in tijden van Covid, maar richt je deze locatie in in een mooie Noord-Afrikaanse stijl, dan is het helemaal af en zou ik er elke week willen eten! Zie deze review maar als een 4,5. Hartstikke bedankt voor de fantastische avond die we hier gehad hebben!

Today I went to a Moroccan restaurant which was full of character. The restaurant is full of African memorabilia but also a banjo. The staff said that they didn't know much English but they knew more English than I knew Dutch so we got by quite easily. The food was very good. I didn't see in the menu that I was ordering a starter so was disappointed when the plate came. Next page was the main meals!!! Had enough money to have a dessert. Time to pay and put my card in and it was rejected! It only takes Dutch cards. This was the first time I had this problem. Went to the local ATM got some cash went back and paid my meal. Would I go...
