An all-you-can-eat Sushi restaurant that also give you the choice to get warm food as ebi fried and other tasty Japanese dishes. The sushi here is delicious. I expected the minimum, but the sushi was fresh and spoke for itself. We had seats next to the kitchen, so we could really see how they work and how fresh they make their dishes. The restaurant gave a high class vibe, which made the experience even better.
2 hours of almost unlimited amount of food is excellent here, and you sure get your money's worth.
The good dishes which I really like were: Seared Coquille Nigiri: It is just soft and so tasty. It melts in your mouth with an explosion of one of the best sushi tastes I have in the Netherlands. Crispy Mayo Maki: I searched the whole Netherlands to have a good Crispy Mayo Maki. All the time I find a soggy Breadcrumb maki, which really taste like wet rice with air and mayo. But this time here at Tatsu I found it. The rice is good, the breadcrumbs are actually crispy. You know it is fresh, because the crumbs are still crispy. Spicy Fish & Chips Maki: This one is weird but tasty. The salmon taste so good. The spice is almost perfect. The chips makes it interesting. If you like a little crunch like me, this one is tasty. But If you do not like chips or too much crunchiness, I would suggest you not to try this one.
TBH: I would just recommend you to visit Tatsu and try out everything. It is worth your money.
But I did have some bad dishes, which I didn't mind that much because of logical reasons: First Dish: Unagi Nigiri and the Unagi Maki. You could taste the Unagi not being the best quality bought. Sometimes I do not mind it being "not the best", but with Unagi, if you do not buy good quality unagi -- you get the worst taste in your mouth. But again, frozen Unagi is almost bought in every all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants, it's just way more cost-efficient.
Second Dish: Tatsu special Nigiri. It's Flambé Salmon with cheese and a sauce. Everything was perfect, until the taste of cheese took over. Why waste a good nigiri with cheese... I never understood that.
Third Dish: Korean fried chicken. I do not have words for this one. It is not spicy, it tasted like someone pour a lot of vinegar on it and forgot the actual taste of spices. This one was just pain bad. A bummer. At least you could taste that it was fresh, hahaha.
Next time, I am going to give the deluxe menu a try. You pay a little more for some extra special dishes. I...
Read moreTatsu at the Mall of The Netherlands is an all you can eat (within two hours). The lunch menu is presented on a tablet where each person can choose 4 items per round. There is a waiting time between each rounds of 8 minutes before another round can be ordered (this also includes drinks!!!)
The hospitality isn’t great. When we arrived, awaiting instructions for a bit, no one acknowledged our presence so we assumed that we just picked a table. One of the attendants came after a while and told us off for sitting down. We explained that no one’s greeted us or given us instructions, he told us that they were understaffed. Although we understand their predicament, it’s no way to talk to customers. We were going to leave, if it weren’t for the children who were excited by the menu and experience.
The food itself was alright. In terms of taste, we recommend the black pepper beef and the beef teriyaki. The garlic prawn was not worth the surcharge as all I could taste was the sauce which overpowered the meat.
The only gripe I had with the menu was that there are only two desserts available without an extra charge. Saying that, I did enjoy the custard bun.
Overall, I wasn’t particularly impressed, but my kids enjoyed it and feel that it’s quite harsh to just give two stars. At the end of the day, it’s about being together, sharing a new experience, and having...
Read moreHi this is Charlize, I just celebrate my birthday this evening in your restaurant with 7 guests, because from my experience I really appreciate the food and especially the meat dishes. I actually reserved for 9 guests, but unfortunately two people gave me a short notice that they could not come hours after I got called for a confirmation from the restaurant in the morning.
I was trying to ring this restaurant back 3 times to inform you, but could not get any answer, because the line was too busy. During our dinner everything turned out to be disappointing, mainly because of the old man, one of your staff, was so discourteous and had an unpleasant manner towards our table. This was very disturbing during our dinner time, we could not even enjoy the food because of his arrogance. But in fairness to all the younger staff, they were all nice and accommodating. All of my six guests are first timers to dine in in your restaurant and everyone would not like to come back and would not rather recommend to eat or celebrate here. Sad to say this would be my last time. I feel sorry for those staff who are trying to be nice with the one rotten. Despite his arrogance, I tried to be polite and greeted him "Fijne avond" but what I got was a...
