During our visit to Maastricht, we had the pleasure of dining at Oak34, and it was an experience to remember. The outdoor dining space was fully occupied, but we were fortunate to find a spot, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for our meal.
We were served by Elisabetta, whose service was impeccable from start to finish. She was prompt, friendly, and incredibly polite, making us feel welcome and well taken care of. Elisabetta’s expertise and recommendations truly enhanced our dining experience, and she definitely deserves a 5-star rating for her outstanding service.
We started our meal with glasses of white beer and white wine, which were the perfect refreshment on a warm day. For the main course, we ordered the salmon steak and pork ribs. The food was superbly tasty, with each dish cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich and satisfying, living up to Oak34's reputation for high-quality cuisine.
Given that we dined during busy hours, we noticed that the restaurant was bustling with activity. It's important to note that during peak times, you may need to be a bit patient while waiting for your food. The entire staff is working hard to deliver top-quality dishes, and it’s clear they are doing their best to ensure every guest has a great experience. Unfortunately, I overheard some guests being impolite to the staff, and I’ve read some reviews criticizing the wait time. In my opinion, this isn’t fair to the hardworking team at Oak34.
Beyond the food, the overall atmosphere at Oak34 was warm and inviting. The entire staff were friendly and polite, adding to the overall positive experience.

Read moreI used to work here, and I wanted to respond to some of the negative reviews. Trust me, I would have loved to take your order or payment, but I wasn’t allowed to. We were required to tell all customers, “I can’t take orders, but I’ll inform my colleagues.”
However, I never actually told my colleagues that you needed something. Why? Because they would get annoyed and mad at me. They’d say things like, “You don’t have to tell me, I make my rounds!” But then they’d just end up chit-chatting with each other instead. For some reason, not everyone was trained to handle orders, which was frustrating. That’s actually why I quit—I couldn’t handle the frustration of customers being upset with me for not taking their orders or payments. Some would ask me multiple times, and I genuinely cared about doing my job well, but I had no choice.
On top of that, some of the workers were only there for the social aspect, chatting with each other while I stayed later than I was supposed to and I had to clean tables.

Good attention, care and also good preparation for a guest with gluten intolerance. The type of songs were played appropriately for each part of the day. The service was very good, you hardly noticed people running around doing their job. The food was great. At the beginning, delicious snacks of different kinds were served in great variety at different times of the day. Then dinner was served which was so delicious I almost couldn't stop eating.
