Coco Loco Beach Bar — Restaurant in Oranjestad (city)

The only place that I regret visiting in Aruba. We were happy to have some refreshing drinks aside the beach, but it was a totally disaster. We arrived and no one greeted us. we moved a table ourselves to make us feel confortable, then, we waited 10 minutes to see a menu. We decided to ask at the bartender if we can see the menus. The waitress took another 10 minutes to noticed that we were seating and came with a nasty attitude asking if we were ready to order. We decided to give a try because the people around seemed to be happy. We order drinks, 2 hamburguers, one ceviche and a a calamari ... and one coke. The waitress immediately charged us, actually I didn't know exactly what she charged (but thats ok) drinks were quick served, but the coke never arrived, after 15 minutes we asked the waitress if she forgot the coke and she "oh yes im sorry. a totally first mistake... terrible fruit with crush ice flavor with no liquor at all. After 45 minutes of wait, we have to approached the desk to ask for our food, we cosidered the food order was nothing complicated, the waitress again with this weird attitude and said "your food is coming" another 15 minutes passed and she brought the most disgusting hamburguers that we ever seen, they tasted really bad, a salty beef between a bun, and and a big piece of onion, it looked bad and it tasted bad. The ceviche served with tortilla chips (no plantains as the menu shows) no flavor at all, terrible experience. They just sell drinks to the people who are spenfing time in the water ... I guess and those who take the drinks out. Really disappointed with this place, there are much better local food for the half of price that we sadly spend here, plus we ended lossing 2 hours of our vacation time...

The service at this place seem to have been on a decline. This is our 5th time in Aruba since January 2024 and we've always had good service at this place in 2024. But lately, some of the servers have such bad attitudes. We ordered and asked how long for us to go back to pick up the food and the lady just brushed us off with a look as if telling us "why are you asking? just wait." I thought it was just that day but a few days later the same person gave us the same attitude. That day the service was so bad that everyone, everyone, who ordered food waited at least 1-1.5 hours for simple orders. I saw people screaming at the servers out of frustration but most were not bothered. There was one who tried to defuse the tension but the one that gave us an attitude could care less. If only they explained to everyone what was happening in the kitchen I feel most would understand. I noticed that those who tipped in front of them got preferential treatment and got their food before anyone else. I would've tipped but I was not treated nicely.

Final note. This is our experience in ordering food. Their portions are smaller compared to restaurants around Baby Beach. If you want beer or liquor, they will be better in providing that and you can get drunk fast. Good luck and remember this is not the only establishment in the area that...

Worst food I’ve had in quite some time.

We had a the grilled mahi mahi (called dolphin on the menu but don’t worry) and the grilled chicken burger. For both imagine getting a fresh piece of meat, taking it in and out of the freezer for a month so it gets a ton of freezer burn and then grilling and serving it extra cooked. That tough chewy stringy texture is what we got for not only the chicken but also the fish.

Service was absurdly slow even though there were like 3 other groups there. It’s the beach though so no stars off for that…. Just expect a half hour wait just to get served even if it’s empty. Enjoy the vibes though because it’s really nice beach vibes and has some shady spots
