Party of 4, came here for dinner without reservations and were told we had to sit in a booth by the resort pool, despite the place being empty. Weird and sort of annoying, but whatever. Not one person liked their drink. My wife ordered the dirty banana and got a glass of Pinot. I got the special and it was basically sugary juice. We ordered the calamari and it was a few plain rings with nothing else but a dipping sauce. The booth we were in had a straw roof and no lights, so we couldn’t see each other or our food.
Not a single person enjoyed their meal either. I have a feeling they only know how to cook steak a certain way. I ordered the steak special, the waitress asked if I wanted it medium(after asking my friend if he wanted his steak medium) and I replied that I’d like it medium rare. I got a stringy, overseasoned piece of fat that was just wrong in every way. It came with fries that weren’t cooked. My wife got the chicken parm. I tried a bite and it also tasted strange.
Our waitress was friendly and brought over lights when we explained we’d like to be able to see what we’re eating, but the service was slow. I can’t believe the reviews of this place are so high after our visit today. Go to Matthew’s instead, the food...

Water’s Edge provides a nice venue outside for a pleasant dinner, but . . . There are so many Palapa’s you can barely see the water. This make sunset viewing not the best.
While other ratings provide a sense of “very good”, this reviewer didn’t find the same experience. The restaurant is part of a hotel complex which is a bit dated. There is a large bar as you walk in which is more of a local watering hole than something inviting for a nice dinner.
Our sever was very nice but unfortunately too helpful, showing up to the table every 5 minutes to ask if our food was OK, or we needed anything. A bit over the top.
For dinner we stated with salads which were nice but standard far. No imagination and noting that would stand out in a conversation. We both had grouper which was prepared quite well, served with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. Portions were plentiful but not supersized.
Overall the experience was underwhelming. We had never been here before and the rating projected something it isn’t. Be wary of reviews from early bird dinners. If you have a choice there are much better restaurants to enjoy while...
Read moreMy husband & I went to Water's Edge for a sunset dinner since we did not make reservations in time for one of the other restaurants. We were not right on the beach (like Passions in Aruba), but we were outside & have a decent view of the beach. There was a very romantic & relaxing atmosphere. A lady was singing love songs, & she was very good. The wind was blowing, which is normal for Aruba, so you have to hold on to your napkins. Lisa was our server, & she was fantastic! She took very good care of us. Our food was delicious! We had the ceviche for an appetizer. For dinner, I had tuna & my husband had the grouper. The only thing that we didn't like is that we pretty much had to double tip. They charged us 15%, but Lisa explained that this goes to all the staff, her, bartenders, etc...so we felt obligated to tip her separately. So we paid 15% service charge & another 20% to the server. So our bill for our food was about $100, & then we paid like $35 tip total. It's fine because we don't go to fancy places like this all the time, but I wanted others to be prepared because some places (like in Miami, too) do this. At least, the service & food was excellent, so it...
