Lovely atmosphere and okay customer service but quite underwhelming food.
1/ Atmosphere: 10/10 like when you go drinking outside in Korea. From the tables to the chairs, everything is carefully prepared to bring out the essence of the drinking culture in Korea. Lovely! Crowded, noisy but not too loud. You can still hear others well. 2/ Customer service: 8/10 Attentive. Take care of customers. Quick to react. However, our bill was initially wrong. We ended up having to wait quite long because the bill was sent back and forth to adjust (again & again) due to not being correct. I think there might just be something bad with the system that day. So understandable. Come when you have time to spare, not when you’re on a rush. 3/ Food: here comes all the minuses despite the good atmosphere and decent service. We ordered the chicken set and despite expecting something above Man Nam & Sojubar, we ended up with something totally underwhelming. The chicken(s) wasn’t crisp nor moist. Rather dry and have only a bit of sauce beside. Was really disappointed :( Bulgogi: The only thing we felt was how salty it was. Nothing exceptional. Tokbokki: Small portion. If you buy the ingredients and make it at home, it could be even better. There are other things but I didn’t take pictures of all. Price: On the higher end but they did not deliver. Reading the positive reviews, I expected a lot but as an Asian person, I have to...
Read moreMy boyfriend took me to Pocha for my birthday. This was our first time coming here and this restaurant happend to be on my list of restaurants I still want to visit. We ordered: "beef bulgogi, tteok-kkochi with sausage, eggroll with cheese, cheese potato pancake, one portion of white rice, yuzu ice tea and yuzu matcha soda". I thought what we ordered wasn't alot, until we ate. It was alot! The beef bulgogi is well portioned. Really loved the tteok-kkochi with sausage. Usually I don't like it (at other places), but here it was crunchy on the outside and super soft and chewy on the inside. All the dishes were great.
But what stood out the most was their service. A young man (i think it is the owner) brought us some gyoza's on the house because it's my birthday. On the egg dish we ordered, they even put "HBD". We were pleasantly surprised. But it didn't stop there; I recieved a dessert with a lighted candle on the house as well.
Really appreciate that gesture ♥️ At many other restaurants, from a normal eatery to a Michelin restaurant, they just put either a candle on your dessert or just a written "happy birthday" text on your plate. But Pocha went more out of their way to make my evening extra special. That made my evening!
Really grateful and thank you alot Pocha ♥️✨️
So in summary: food was great, interior was awesome, but the service was...
Read moreWe went there the first time wanting to try out the place. The employee asked if we had a reservation, we didn’t so we can sit for about 1:30-2hr before their busy time.
The restaurant is decorated with Korean street bar/food stall theme, looks very nice in general and they also have coat racks. The biggest disappointment is the prices. We have to admit that the food was good but comparing to that price you can easily get a fuller meal elsewhere. Reading the owners reply to other reviews we understand that they build the place inspiration from Korean bar so it’s going to fit if your main purpose is to DRINK not to eat. You ring a bell to order/ask for the bill this might be new for the Europeans so plus point for the experience.
We ordered 1 chicken dish jalapeño mayo sauce (17e) and 1 anju beef bulgogi (24e). For 24e if it comes with rice I can understand but there were no rice so that was pricey for me. Looking at their drink menu a bottle of soju is at least 12e (you can find other places with 10.5-11e). So even for drinking purpose I still find it not worth it. We came as a table for 3 and the meal was mid not as full as our expectations.
In my opinion the space and quality in general doesn’t have enough good impressions for me to comeback. They were good just that not...
