Smullers — Restaurant in Rotterdam

My first time to try this vending machine fast food and I had a lot of fun. It’s quick, efficient, the food is piping hot.

Pay with your card, press the button beside the item you want, the door opens, you get the snack with a piece of tissue that’s already included in the “lockbox” and then you shut the door. A 15 second process!

Perfectly located in the station where everyone is in a hurry.

The snack itself is surprisingly good. Crunchy crispy on the outside but the batter is very thin, perfect!

The cheese is generous. I also had the Frikadel, quite tasty.

Ordered a large frites and a snack. Was told to wait 10 minutes for my frites, which is of course no problem. When the frites were done got asked to wait another minute for my snack while the cashier thumbled about trying to get my frites into a bag tipping it over. 5 minutes later they take the snack out of the vending wall (it was done before me even ordering). So I get served cold frites in a bag with the sauce mostly outside of the box with a lukewarm snack for €6,40.

I have been to Smullers in Zwolle, Amersfoort and Hilversum before. Nice crew, good food. But this particular Smullers is just horrible. The service has no idea what to even do. It is busy which might be difficult for new employees. But at least give them some advice on how to talk to customers. And educate them about what rhey are selling. The food was horribly cold after 2 minutes of walking out. the burger tasted as if it was straight out of a refrigerator. Just too bad to see this in Rotterdam. I will keep ordering but not...
