I don't usually write impressions from my travels unless they really impress me, but I have to share this bad experience. Namely, out of so many restaurants in the center of Rotterdam, we chose this one that impressed us with its appearance and the busy work of the waiters., We have been in Rotterdam for 5 days already, tired of walking and sightseeing. The mind is full of all kinds of food and drinks, but the evening is approaching and we need something light to eat until the next day. Let me mention right away that I have been working in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years and the very word hospitality means hosting someone and leaving a good impression so that the guest feels comfortable, appreciated and returns again, as well as spreading the word about a good hospitality facility. In a city of a million inhabitants with tourists, even an ordinary street stand would work perfectly if it just made a little effort with minimal kindness. Namely, upon arrival, we asked for a table and they directed us to the table where the reservation was. An old restaurant manipulation to give the guests the idea that he is important and to seat him at a table that is reserved so that you will leave a good tip. It's not a problem if the waiter is human.
As soon as we sat down, a young girl brought water for the dog, thanking her for the gesture. From other waitress We get a wine list and the answer is that we don't drink wine, immediately a disappointing grimace on the face. He brings another menu... the daughter wanted to ask something, but the waitress immediately stopped her in a bad way and said insultingly that she was waiting for his to explain everything to her. We looked at each other. When we ordered the food arrived separately, I had to wait 15 minutes for my dish. With the explanation that she thought that I ordered secondo and my wife and daughter got primo. Which was not in dispute at all that we ordered separately and according to the procedure she should have asked. Of course, she still insisted that she was right. The food looked and tasted great. Kudos to the chefs! After I expressed my displeasure, the waitress stood next to me and gossiped about me and my colleague, not knowing that I speak Dutch fluently. Tensions calmed down and she even tried to be kind on a couple of occasions, which she should have been from the very beginning. But the whole time we didn't feel welcome as we refused the wine list. After finishing, we asked for the bill. Without any question: CASH OR CARD We receive a bill of 77.20 euros for cash. In Rotterdam, where all bills over 2 euros are paid by card and no one has 100 euros in their pocket for safety...
It doesn't matter, we paid in cash, it's a pity, we didn't leave a tip, and on this occasion we apologize to the employees if they split the tip. All the other workers deserved a tip, but let them thank their colleague for being unprofessional and rude. It's a shame that such workers are ruining the painstaking long-term effort of the owners to put the restaurant in good standing... everything falls overnight due to a bad selection of personnel. If you don't have good staff, reduce the terrace and the number of seats or, as the owner, be there and monitor what is happening in the restaurant. When leaving, I openly told the waitress that we were disappointed with her work and behavior. Here, in a wonderful city, a bad experience. Don't pass by the restaurant, maybe the waitress didn't have a good day, maybe she'll improve, maybe she realized that people aren't there because of her, but that she's there because of the people she needs to accommodate, from rich to poor, because they all have the right to sit down and enjoy the moment, good service and good food. In any case, we won't go to that restaurant again, even though we come to Holland...

Read moreThe waitress, a dark haired woman with glasses, is without a doubt the most unpleasant and repulsive person I have ever encountered. I cannot understand how someone with such cynicism and rudeness could ever be allowed to work with people. Instead of representing the restaurant, she completely disgraces it and destroys it's reputation. From the very first moment, she was rude, disrespectful, and even argued over the most basic requests. She went so far as to make assumptions about my health when I said multiple times that I didn’t want sushi because it usually makes me sick. She had a mocking smile on her face and laughed at me as if I were stupid and unworthy of being in your restaurant because I didn't want to eat sushi. Her behavior not only insulted me, but deeply offended me as a person and trampled on my dignity. She was so brazen that she even started gossiping with her colleague about our order, thinking we didn’t understand Dutch. The entire experience was shocking and humiliating, to the point where I couldn’t wait to leave. Honestly, if she really must work there, I strongly recommend that she be removed from any customer facing role and put to washing dishes, because in her current role she only drives guests away and damages the restaurant’s reputation. I am certain that if she ever sees this, she will lie to her boss about the situation, but the truth is that this person should not be working with people at all, unless she seeks serious professional mental help. Because of this treatment, I will never, for as long as I live, return to this place. Too bad, Gyozas were...
