't Boothuys — Restaurant in The Hague

We started of with the carpaccio which was good but had a lot of sauce and was slightly warm, then I had the spaghetti with meatballs, which were huge and not very tasty. They where dry and not very good. My girlfriend had the steak which she asked to be medium but she got it more on the rare side, further it was okay, but also with the steak there where almost no vegetables.

The waiter is a bit over friendly sometimes, we just had a quick bite and left straight after which they did not like and chose to speak on, "leaving already, that is not very cosy" which in my book is something you can not say to your guests...

Also not a lot of etiquette around the table, we got our cutlery by it being almost thrown on the table over my shoulder and while taking the plates of the table there was no form of interaction only when he was already a few feet from the table he asked if it was alright. I doubt he even heard it?

Possible it was due to the heat of this day but still there is a line which was crossed in terms of...

Not great service, but with a smile

We came in from a freezing and windy evening walk at the beach, and were greeted by a very friendly and cozy atmosphere and decor in the restaurant. So far so good. Sadly, the service let the whole experience down for us. Despite a quite empty restaurant it took a while, and some nudging, for the waiter to take our drinks order, he was always friendly though. Food arrived quickly, but when we asked for cutlery we were told - jokingly - that we could eat the dish (fish and chips) with our fingers. It turned out not to be a joke, and cutlery was never provided. There were no ice cubes anymore available, and the beer my husband fancied was no longer available - all this could just have been ad-hoc mishaps this evening, but overall it marred the experience - and evening...

Very disappointed, terrible service on 19.06.2022 before noon.

The man working there managed to make feel not wanted there/discriminated. I wanted to sit on a table where I could charge my phone and he told me to wait. I waited until he served some people, that's ok. Then I waited until he talked to other people who came 5 minutes after me. Then he took a call and told me to continue waiting. I found a table where I could charge - he had only to point with his finger to the table, it could have been so easy and fast!!!! I sat down and waited for him to take the order but instead of even wanting to point me to a table, he went to take the order of the other people who came there after me!

Am I not blond enough? Not Ditch enough? Not a tourist enough? Or you hate women with babies?...
