Burrata Turfmarkt — Restaurant in The Hague

This is a great place if you like to experience discrimination. Here is the story. The place has a terrace. It is 09.09.2023 about 19:00. Most of the tables are full but two tables are empty. I ask to the waiter (a male about 55 years old, hereafter "the man") if I can sit outside. He says I can sit inside and if tables will get empty he can take me outside. Fine I say. So I sit inside (very hot with no air conditioning) and watch people coming in. One couple comes and asks the man f they can sit outside. He shows a table to them. After few minutes two ladies come and ask the same question. The man shows them a table. I call one of the waiters (a lady) and ask if I can give feedback to what is happening. She is not open to the feedback and steps back and shows no willingness to listen what I have to say. She calls the man. I ask him why does he allow others to sit outside while I was not allowed to sit outside. He murmurs something unclear. I insist on my question and he turns his back and walks away. This is discrimination based on I do not know what. Dutch...

Nice atmosphere that led me to my greatest disappointment almost as if I was betrayed by its nice appearance.

Service is not that great and you will notice it once you are there. Was very long waiting, as wel for your orders to be completed. Quality of the food has degraded aswel. You would have thought it would be authentic Itallian. Wrong, it does not have the dynamic taste as you expected. Very bland, very pricy for the quality.

Ordered spaghetti carbonara 15,50 eu , you will get an egg that isn't fresh but rather dry. Carbonara ? you won't find any for you will find just thinly slices of ham/bacon that isn't crispy but just mixed in with the pasta. If you expect to find the crispy carbonara forget it. About the sauce, very bland and almost no taste. A rather watery diluted sauce. Cheese? just a few sprinkles.

Conclusion, food is ok not that great either. For that quality and price maybe not that great. If your looking for an authentic Italian maybe this isn't the best place. My advice is too look for another place if you want a better quality...

it saddens me to write this - i don’t usually give a bad feedback but the waitress was really rude ! As my friend and I walked in ! We sat at the back table towards the right as there was a charging plug point because we have just arrived from a 6 hours journey!

The waitress ( talk , blonde ish hair , curly ) came up to us and gave us the menu! I asked her politely if she could clean the table and she told me “ how bout you move to a cleaner table and gave a very sarcastic smile)

And as I was trying to get her attention for an English menu - she turned away and went to three other tables before approaching us! And she sent another male waiter towards us, said something bout us ( from her hand gestures and her pointing at our directions )

He came with an unfriendly smile and told us there weren’t any English menu! So we left I mean if you going to be rude - you won’t be getting our money :) please...
