FIRST TIME VISITING AND REVIEW! So, as dancer I heard the had latin music on Wednesday. Meaning thus Salsa, Bachata, merengue and Kizomba. I had seen several videos and was curious as to how the party would be there. So of course I went. They asked for my QR code. They checked by bag and took my bottled of water. The party here starts at 21:30. The place is very very spacious. I love the dancefloor. Very easy to dance on. The bar is big and large, to which you have more than enough space to order. I LOVE the disco light. The sound is amazing! There are many standing and or sitting areas and chairs. It was suuuuper busy this day. So many dancers together. After dancing it became very warm very fast. But the bathroom was perfect to refresh, since it had a huge fan on the ceiling that I totally loved. Very clean bathroom and very well located in the center of Den Haag. For it to be my first time here I can only recommend it do dance on Wednesdays, since I haven't experienced the placed any other way.

I've been going to de Boterwaag for many years because it's an amazing historical place with great beer, quick service, tasty food and a pub/restaurant vibe. But something happened during our dinner two nights ago that made me think twice. We saw mice running around under the tables, looking for bits of food to eat. One almost came under our table and didn't seem scared of people at all. This made my daughter feel really uncomfortable. When we reported it to the staff, the response was somewhat passive-aggressive, half-hearted sorry. We were told that the cold weather outside was to blame, that they were aware of the issue and that efforts were being made to address it. I get that they can't just close down the place, but this whole thing really messed up our night. I'm thinking of staying away from de Boterwaag for a while...

I came upon this place whilst walking in The Hague and was attracted by the cozy interior of the restaurant as well as an open and well prepared terrace. The menu has a clear structure, providing a variety of drinks to choose from and detailing the specific types, in my case, of beer. I went for the Trappistes Rochefort, a Belgium quadrupel, which did not disappoint me in any way and suited all of my requirements of a proper quadrupel! For lunch I had scrambled eggs with bacon, and asked the waiter if it was possible to have it with mushrooms, to which he kindly replied that it will be arranged. The lunch was absolutelly stunning in the mix of flavours and presentation. Overall, I highly enjoyed both the beer and food, and the experience itself. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

Boterwaag is a hidden gem located in the heart of the bustling city of Den Haag, in the Netherlands. This cafe, with its charming decor, warm atmosphere, and great selection of Belgian beers and delicious food, has become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the menu is impressive, making it a must-visit spot for anyone in the area.

Walking into Boterwaag, you're immediately struck by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is a perfect combination of rustic and chic, with exposed brick walls, wooden beams, and vintage art and artifacts adorning the walls. The seating is comfortable and the lighting is just right, making it a perfect spot to sit and relax with friends.

One of the highlights of Boterwaag is its extensive selection of Belgian beers. The cafe offers a wide range of beers, from the most popular Belgian classics such as Duvel, Chimay, and La Chouffe, to lesser-known craft beers. The bartenders are knowledgeable and passionate about their offerings, and are always happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. Whether you're a seasoned beer drinker or just starting to explore the world of Belgian beers, there's something for everyone at Boterwaag.

But it's not just the drinks that make Boterwaag stand out. The food menu is equally impressive, with a focus on high-quality ingredients and delicious flavor combinations. From traditional Dutch bitterballen to artisanal sandwiches and salads, there's something for everyone. The menu is updated seasonally to ensure that the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced, and the presentation is always beautiful.

One of the standout dishes at Boterwaag is the Boterwaag burger, which has become famous among locals and tourists alike. The burger is a true masterpiece, with a juicy and flavorful beef patty, crispy bacon, and a generous amount of cheese, all served on a freshly baked bun. It's no surprise that it's one of the most popular items on the menu.

What truly sets Boterwaag apart, however, is the friendly and welcoming staff. The bartenders and waiters are knowledgeable about their offerings, and always willing to make recommendations or answer any questions you may have. They make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time visiting, and their hospitality truly adds to the overall experience.

In addition to the great food and drinks, Boterwaag also hosts a variety of events and activities throughout the year. From live music to pub quizzes, there's always something going on. The cafe has a lively and festive atmosphere, making it a great spot to hang out with friends, meet new people, or just unwind after a long day.

Overall, Boterwaag is a must-visit spot for anyone in Den Haag. With its cozy and welcoming atmosphere, extensive selection of Belgian beers, and delicious food, it's a true gem in the heart of the city. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the events and activities make it a lively and fun spot to hang out. Whether you're in the mood for a quick drink or a leisurely meal, you won't be disappointed by what Boterwaag...

Despite its charming exterior and promising ambience, our experience at de Boterwaag was far from satisfactory. Seated, we were greeted by a lengthy wait of approximately 20-25 minutes before anyone attended to our table, setting an unfavorable tone for the evening. When we finally managed to place our order, the service remained sluggish, with a noticeable delay in receiving our drinks.

The initial glass of white beer arrived promptly, but the white wine we ordered was forgotten, requiring a reminder from our end. After another 5 minutes, the wine finally arrived, but to our disappointment, it was not the dry wine we had requested but instead a sweet, diluted concoction.

Despite expressing our dissatisfaction and offering the server an opportunity to taste the wine herself, the issue persisted when a replacement was provided after another 5-6 minutes of waiting.

The lack of attention to detail and apparent disregard for customer preferences was disappointing. While the ambiance of the establishment was pleasant enough, it was overshadowed by the prolonged wait times and the subpar quality of the beverages. Ultimately, we opted to cut our losses and seek refreshments elsewhere, where customer satisfaction is...

Finding a decent lunch spot is not easy in the Hague. The ambiance here is great-it's cozy and it's a beautiful old building. The staff is very nice too! But the food is below mediocre. We got there before the pizza menu starts (4pm) so we could only order sandwiches or bar food. The bitterballen were pretty good, the cheese sticks were strangely Asian style. I got the pulled pork sandwich. It was a mess. I'm not sure what the chef could be thinking; it had big chunks of pork, bacon, lettuce, sliced tomatoes, sliced apples and heaps of what I think was BBQ sauce. All on normal sandwich bread (3 slices, club sandwich style) which made it a soggy mess. The meat, even the bacon somehow was flavorless, and of course the bbq (or HP sauce) took over the whole flavor. Do not recommend! We also ordered the focaccia bread which was NOT focaccia; it was flat like a tortilla and almost inedible from the overuse of garlic salt. I was really disappointed with the food as your can tell. I really wanted to like this place as it's is so nice and atmospheric inside. Perhaps their dinner...
