FIRST TIME VISITING AND REVIEW! So, as dancer I heard the had latin music on Wednesday. Meaning thus Salsa, Bachata, merengue and Kizomba. I had seen several videos and was curious as to how the party would be there. So of course I went. They asked for my QR code. They checked by bag and took my bottled of water. The party here starts at 21:30. The place is very very spacious. I love the dancefloor. Very easy to dance on. The bar is big and large, to which you have more than enough space to order. I LOVE the disco light. The sound is amazing! There are many standing and or sitting areas and chairs. It was suuuuper busy this day. So many dancers together. After dancing it became very warm very fast. But the bathroom was perfect to refresh, since it had a huge fan on the ceiling that I totally loved. Very clean bathroom and very well located in the center of Den Haag. For it to be my first time here I can only recommend it do dance on Wednesdays, since I haven't experienced the placed any other way.

I've been going to de Boterwaag for many years because it's an amazing historical place with great beer, quick service, tasty food and a pub/restaurant vibe. But something happened during our dinner two nights ago that made me think twice. We saw mice running around under the tables, looking for bits of food to eat. One almost came under our table and didn't seem scared of people at all. This made my daughter feel really uncomfortable. When we reported it to the staff, the response was somewhat passive-aggressive, half-hearted sorry. We were told that the cold weather outside was to blame, that they were aware of the issue and that efforts were being made to address it. I get that they can't just close down the place, but this whole thing really messed up our night. I'm thinking of staying away from de Boterwaag for a while...

I came upon this place whilst walking in The Hague and was attracted by the cozy interior of the restaurant as well as an open and well prepared terrace. The menu has a clear structure, providing a variety of drinks to choose from and detailing the specific types, in my case, of beer. I went for the Trappistes Rochefort, a Belgium quadrupel, which did not disappoint me in any way and suited all of my requirements of a proper quadrupel! For lunch I had scrambled eggs with bacon, and asked the waiter if it was possible to have it with mushrooms, to which he kindly replied that it will be arranged. The lunch was absolutelly stunning in the mix of flavours and presentation. Overall, I highly enjoyed both the beer and food, and the experience itself. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

Another tourist trap. Service was poor and uncoordinated with their primary goal to serve you as much drinks as possible. Food is mediocre. Pizzas were soggy in the middle with most of the outside ungarnished. Burgers were burned outside and raw inside despite having ordered medium raw. Staff does not speak Dutch which is usually not a problem but they also cannot read the menu because it's in Dutch ... Cook was also rude because they got the order wrong and acted like it was our fault. Also unable to serve all meals at the same time with the pizza about 15 minutes ahead of the burgers. Burger without bun was served with ... a bun ... Overall bad experience and would not visit again to dine. Probably okay to just have a drink.

We had dinner here with a group. The food is OK and the prices are very reasonable, especially for a 3-course meal. The service could be better though, I had a question about whether the cheese on the salad contained raw milk; they only got back to me about this after asking several times and then told me they didn’t know the answer, so they offered to take the salad away again. They gave me a salad without the cheese in the end. On top of the dishes arrived at very different times, so one person only got their starter once everyone else had already finished.

Excellent service with awesome food and drinks. I went for a quick drink and ended up staying for food and more drinks just because of how pleasant and attentive our waitress and waiter were. Pulled pork sandwich was hefty and extremely tasty. I would definitely recommend it. Ham and kaas tosti was a pretty good size and not made with the thin, cheap sort of bread. Again, worth it in my opinion. One thing that impressed me was just how many beers they had available compared to other restaurants/bars…an extremely wide selection. Delirium Red is my fav!
