Not a good experience AT ALL which started with a horrible welcome. If I was on my own, I would have left immediately. You enter the place while there are two tables are occupied with only 6 persons and the owner jumps in front of you and asks whether we wanted to eat or just to drink because he doesn’t have time to prepare any food! He says that with a really weird toen of voice as if he does us a favour if he allowed us in his cage. He said it Without any proper greeting or a fake smile. He clearly needed an assistant also some training himself because we had to wait for a bloody long time for three simple drinks. It took him so long to make a simple tea and a cappuccino after and then one of us had to watch the rest drinking while waiting for another long time to get her own stupid non tasty chai. He did not apologise for such a delay to deliver the orders and a massive gap between them and the fact that one of us had nothing in front of her for a considerable length of time. If you can not handle three tables! You need assistance or just close the damn cafe for that day. Because you might make some money, but you also get one starts and feedbacks like mine. It was very very weird! He would also talk for a while with one of the customers who seemed to be a close friend btw. The quality of the drinks were very very low and the scones just ok I guess because they were just out of the oven. Hygiene was another obvious issue. Big cakes were there uncovered!!! 🤯 I wanted to use the toilet and there was a ladder laid on the door! I asked if it was available and he just said yes, but did nothing! I had to put the ladder away myself in order to enter the toilet which thanks god it was...
Read moreAfter a long day without eating much, I took my date here and was surprised by how lovely this humble establishment is. A very authentic interior that one would consider kitsch, but I felt like it really hit home on how this restaurant is the owner's passion project. He even cleaned a table for us as he felt bad making us wait. We were served some amazing tea - which had a wonderful, grand selection - and then ordered our food. This was delivered about 45 minutes after ordering. It was so amazing and properly spiced with herbs, we couldn't help but stay for some more, and ordered scones and pie. These - just like the English breakfast and scrambled eggs - were above any expectations, just every bite had this powerful flavour to it. Our bellies were full and our hearts filled with gratitude for the wonderful experience, all thanks to the service, the fresh foods and the lovely, kind and energetic owner, who even gave us a free salad. Will definitely visit again for their scones, that were warm and freshly baked,...
Read moreNot great The place was not busy, but we had to wait for a long time. The drinks and food were served in chipped cups and plates, which were not even from a set. They were using a microwave for making of the food. The owner/cook spoke Dutch with us and we spoke in English. Two minutes later he came to speak with clients across us - they were Dutch-speaking, but the guy spoke in English... it was really odd... In addition, the owner/cook received a delivery from AH. Actually, they had the worst possible and cheapest bread possible. The food looked colourful, but it was not great - packaged salad from AH, bad bread, etc. The place needs extra cleaning and upgrade. We left somehow hungry and our child told us that the place was not nice and we should not go there again. In conclusion, we do not recommend it. P.S. The owners and the cook...
