Not just overpriced and pretentious - too many errors. First course had mushy tuna and under ripe Avocado. Second dish was a sort of stab at a deconstructed pesto but it had sundried tomatoes which not only did not belong in the dish but also completely overpowered. This was the least problametic dish - but it was a shame that the basil and the cheese didn't shine through. Pasta was ok but got lost in the rest of the dish. The third dish has a piece of overcooked brisket and another piece of meat - also overcooked. Again a lot of components on the plate with no balance and a few overpowering flavours. Instead of desert we ordered the cheese which started with a cheese ice cream. This was another mistake as the structure was a bit icy and it lacked depth. This ice was on a bed of moldy tasting black 'dried' olives. These were either too old or not properly dried before storing in an air tight container. When we commented on this problem they just said you are wrong we had a Michelin star chef in here recently who was raving. Great. Well we spend 190€ for a party of two on a bottle of wine and four courses which we are completely despite the aforementioned problems and we left hungry. What's also amazing is that every single plate came with smears on it. I really don't understand how they can spend so much time on making the plate look like it's fine dining and then miss that final step before the plates go to the table. In short - avoid if you want properly executed dishes, go if you like to cosplay fine diner in a make...

Teveel frutseltjes erbij, zonder enige functie of smaaktoevoeging. Teleurstellende ervaring. Hier komen...

Made a reservation on The Fork for my friend’s birthday but when we got to the restaurant it turned out they were fully booked and could not let us in. They told us “you can show your confirmation, I still have no table”. Turned out they forgot to block online reservations, which they blamed each other for and spoke about it to each other in Dutch (which we understood but since we spoke English as our friend from Italy was joining, they thought we could not understand them). Then they started blaming us that we probably did it wrong (lady called Francesca) and treated us with an attitude. I mean it can happen, really, but the staff really could have just said sorry instead of treating us with such disrespect and arrogance.. we actually traveled 2 hours specifically for this place. Such a shame because we ate here a few times before, but the attitude of the staff really surprises us in a negative way. Probably won’t return. Anyways, eventually went to Meat & More on the corner (who btw were fully booked, also on their website, yet managed to make some space for us), absolutely amazing food and service,...

I recently had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant and it was truly an amazing experience. First of all, the ambiance of the restaurant is very pleasant and relaxing. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, and the service quality is excellent. Now, let's talk about the food... Each dish was like a work of art! Especially the main course and the dessert was incredibly delicious. The freshness of the ingredients and the presentation of the dishes were really impressive. You can feel the chef's skill and meticulousness in every bite. Thank you very much for this wonderful dining experience. I will definitely come again and highly recommend it to everyone. Wishing you continued success!

A couple of weeks ago we had dinner at El Qatarijne for the second time. Also this time around my husband and our friend were impressed by the food-wine combinations. They enjoyed it very much, that the restaurant chooses these combinations carefully and they make use of less obvious/'common' wines (e.g., not from the usual countries, but a mix) and less 'common' grapes. In addition, I was/am pregnant and the restaurant offered good alcohol-free alternatives, as well as alternatives for some ingredients/dishes. Definitely worth a try as a wine lover, but also if you do not like wine, the combination of Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean influences is something you should experience.

Vegan review: We had a five course vegan meal (60,-€) with a 0.1l wine pairing (25,-€). It is recommended to inform upfront if you want to eat vegan. The food was prepared with passion and care. It featured well-cooked and seasoned, mostly seasonal, products. The different courses showcased familiar and pleasing flavor profiles with different twists of Middle East cuisine. The portions were sized well, we were satisfied but not stuffed. The wine pairing was a bargain, showcasing matching wines from all over the world. We were greeted cordially and further food allergies were inquired upfront. The service was friendly, but not too formal. We felt very welcome.
