Itoshii Osaka — Restaurant in Utrecht

Taste of dishes is mediocre to below average.

I had cha shiu udon, the broth was ok but overal the dish was way too fatty. I was fishing out solid lard chunks out from the soup. A bowl for 14.50euro, if not mistaken. The rest of ingredients are ok but they don't look fresh. This was not so worthy for me.

I had also Taiyakii which I ordered multiple times from here, because this is not found so often in NL. Sadly I am disappointed every time. Their Taiyakii is deep fried, and soaked up a lot of oil. Too bad, my Taiyakiis were also over-fried.

Karrage was ok. Takoyaki was ok. Okay like you would expect it but nothing special.

It was more self service, the only interaction I had in the shop was collecting food when it was done, so I couldn't comment more on service. Ordering is possible at the reception or digital...

Priscilla the amazingly attentive phone host! Am currently tryin out and rating all the sushi restaurants that do (or more forced to do) delivery now... This was a surprise to me literally the best that I've tried so far. They normally do not deliver to my part of the city but I called them and said if they can meet me half way to the postcode that they do deliver (where I dont live), so they did!! Also the chicken bread I ordered was just f u c k i n delicious!! Am a fan.. will continue to try out and rate other sushi restaurants (mostly the ones that normally don't deliver/pick up but are forced to do so because of Corona..) again this was SOOO yummy and SOOOO worth my time to write about and efforts to go...

I must say I’ve been a frequent customer for a few years, both eating there and ordering via UberEats. I’ve always loved their cha siu dan daan ramen and takoyaki, super delicious!

However, the last few times I ate there the food was not how they were at all! Especially today, my cha siu ramen tasted so bland I had to ask for salt and pepper, but it didn’t help at all because the noodle also tasted bland. The soup was very ‘thin’ and I threw away 95% of it :( I also ordered takoyaki, not that bad but I have tasted so much better ones there!
