Mr Finch — Restaurant in Utrecht

Overrated with overpriced drinks. Not sure why it is so highly rated on google but you will understand if you have been to countries or bars that have been serving you proper drinks/cocktails. If you are just wanting to drink then there are way better options for the price and service i.e. irish pubs. If you want views then nope this is not it. This place is like a place trying to look classy with fine drinks but doesnt cut it at any level.

Honestly the cocktails are really low quality. If you are big on your cocktails you will understand why and they are way too pricey. Minimum is about 11 euros and up.

The wine and rose is just below average do not bother.

You will be ok with a draught beer, but even then I have never seen so much foam when the bar man was pouring drinks, atleast half was foam and if you are a beer drinker you will know. This could be due to temperature, clean beer glasses, the pouring, co2.. etc

Bar man forgot about our drinks and was too busy chating to the ladies about how he puts an apple in a cocktail 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you looking for views, forget about it! you will be stairing at the walls of the opposite...

Mr. Finch in Utrecht is truly one of the best spots I’ve ever been. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel so welcome. Serving fresh watermelon, explaining the salt, and even giving free shots. The margaritas were made with sooooo much care: my friend likes spicy, I don’t, and the bartender asked our preferences and made each one perfectly. He even offered to remake them if we didn’t like them, which is rare and so thoughtful! At one point, I accidentally moved my hand while talking with my friend and bumped into the waiter, causing his tray to fall and glasses to break. I felt awful, apologized a million times, and even offered to pay, but he was unbelievably kind and said, “No worries, things happen, it’s a bar.” The bartender then gave me a free shot just so I wouldn’t feel bad. That level of hospitality and warmth is rare. Truly the best experience in Utrecht. I absolutely love this place and the incredible people...

Lovely cocktail bar. They can make anything I've ever craved and more than I can imagine. They also have a decent whisk(e)y selection spanning the gammut! New world, old world, peaty & smokey to sweet & spicy. Scotch? You betcha! Irish? Yup. Japanese? Absolutely! Bourbon? Obviously! Rye? Of course. They even have a bottle of white dog and a bottle from local distiller at the moment.

It's not common for a cocktail bar to have more than munchies - fries at most. But they have a salad, flammkuchen, calamari, patas, and gyoza in addition to the standard fare of Bitterballen, fries, nachos, and tendies.

Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the amazing staff! Seriously the best customer service in the whole city. Yannick makes you whatever you ask for, Sasha is always friendly & engaging, and my man Simon will surprise you with a drink that tastes like...
