The food and service were fine, and I've always enjoyed Pita Pit in the past. However, I had a disappointing experience with the state of the customer bathroom, which really affected my confidence in the overall hygiene of the store.
After ordering and paying for my wrap, I used the bathroom and was immediately concerned by how unclean it was. I understand it was a Sunday and the location is close to the CBD, which can make things busy—but the condition of the bathroom made me feel uncertain about eating the food I had just purchased.
There were several hygiene issues: a hair resembling pubic hair next to the flush button, an unclean sink, two empty soap dispensers, an overflowing bin that seemed to contain clothing, and noticeable dirt around the light switch and door lock. It didn’t look like the bathroom had been cleaned in quite a while.
It appeared that only one person was working, which I can understand might make it difficult to keep up. However, following the lunch rush, there should be a system in place to ensure the bathroom is checked and cleaned—especially during hours like 2–3pm when things might calm down a bit.
I genuinely love Pita Pit, but this experience made me question the overall cleanliness and food safety practices. Cleanliness, especially in customer-facing areas like bathrooms, is a reflection of how much a business values its customers’ health. I hope this is taken seriously so others don’t have the same experience.
I hate to write this, but if I had seen the state of the bathroom beforehand, I wouldn't have ordered food. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this location, and I hope this review helps others make an informed decision. Everyone deserves to feel safe and confident when they...
Read moreGet Pita Pit at least once a week, worst experience I have ever had in general with a store. Had to wait five minutes on entry for the owner/manager to get off his phone. Was very stingy with the amount of each topping, and when I asked for extra, he was very rude and talked back to me. Smallest large pita ever to exist on planet earth! Horrible customer service! None of the stations were full with ingredient's . Not to mention my friend asked him a question about her pita and he was very condescending. Never going to come back to here again. For an owner and manger of the store I would expect more from him, no wonder why there was not customers in store. Drive 5 minutes Symonds street its way better!!!!!!!! If there was the option to give zero...
