It’s definitely a great spot for after-work gatherings with friends over dinner and drinks! The restaurant features a perfect combination of BBQ and cocktails, offering not only delicious grilled dishes but also standout cocktails. Here are some highlights:
Tengjiao Fish Slices This appetizer is bursting with Sichuan flavors. The fish slices are crispy and paired with the numbing spiciness of tengjiao, igniting the taste buds. I especially love the subtle lingering heat—this is a must-try for fans of Sichuan cuisine!
Lamb Skewers The lamb skewers here are cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The aroma of the lamb is fully released from the charcoal grilling. Each bite is juicy and satisfying.
Beef Skewers The beef skewers are tender and marinated in a secret sauce. After grilling, they have a slight char and are bursting with juice. Pairing them with a few refreshing cocktails makes for a perfect night!
Pork Belly The pork belly is perfectly balanced with layers of fat and meat, grilled to a juicy finish. The crispy exterior contrasts beautifully with the tender meat, offering a rich texture. BBQ lovers won’t want to miss this!
Grilled Bread An unexpected delight! The grilled bread is crispy and lightly seasoned with pepper and salt—simple yet incredibly tasty. As a side to the BBQ, it stands out with a light texture that pairs well without being overwhelming.
Shrimp Fried Rice The rice is perfectly cooked and fragrant, with fresh, bouncy shrimp. It’s a great choice as a main dish or to accompany the BBQ, and the portion is generous enough to end your meal on a high note.
Melon Breeze Cocktail If you enjoy refreshing cocktails, the Melon Breeze will be your favorite. It has a sweet melon flavor while maintaining a...
Read moreOur group of nine booked and when we arrived, the table was not set so we had to wait for some time before we could sat down.
The food were amazing and very tasty. Special credit to the kitchen as the food came at lightning speed but still at top quality. If you are after yummy fusion Asian food, this restaurant will not disappoint you.
However, if you are expecting good service and friendly staff, then this is definitely not the place. We ordered quite a lot of skewers but when the lady served the skewers, she didn't even tell us what they were so we had to ask every time. We ordered some non alcoholic drinks but none were available and we were told only drinks in the fridge were available. We went up to the fridge to see what was available, then were told we were not allowed to go near the bar area. The bar tender told us to look at the ordering app. But the tiny thumbnail in the ordering app was very difficult to see. Honestly, we were only there for less than a minute, there's really no need to be rude.
The tables are quite small, we ordered 3L tap beer which came in a beer dispenser. However, since the tables are so small, it basically took up all the space and there's no space for food. We asked of its possible to put a table on the side but we're told they don't have any spare tables. In the end, I asked them to serve in jars instead.
I think their food is tasty and worth trying but they really need to up their service before I'll...
Read moreThe atmosphere at Wake up is interesting. The black out windows and neon signs makes you feel like you’re in a movie set which is certainly novel. The menu is big with plenty of choice. There was a funny smell (not food related) near where we sat down which seemed to linger. You have to get your own water and cutlery which seems like more and more restaurants are leaning towards now. The waiter then hands you a piece of paper with a QR code which you scan to order from the online menu. Lots of choice! We ordered the tea infused chilli chicken- lots of chilli, very flavourful just not a lot of chicken. The pork bites- fatty, salty crunchy- pretty good just wish it came with a sauce. The lemongrass shrimp- very good! Different and super crunchy while still being juicy stand out dish for sure. We also ordered the corn which honestly, smelled like cat food. It was flavourful as it’s coated in sugar which becomes caramelised but we couldn’t get past the smell so we just left it.
Overall- ok food and ok drinks. The cocktails were $10 dollars but did not have a lot of alcohol as expected. It reminded me of the food you’d get at jungle 8- just twice as expensive and...
