Bombay Brasserie — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

It is very sadly to say as the owner of this restaurant is also and indian but his behaviour is totally ((((racist))))) towards indian people as i visit here on 5/10/23 for my first time with my friends and we ordered for dinner when the owner took the order he straightly said I’m here from 25 years our indian people don’t know how to speak. It was totally doing racism with us and given us wrong ordered food don’t knw why.. But rest of the staff and chef was very friendly and they felt sorry for what happened but the owner (old guy) was fully out of his mind..

Very bad experience 1st time in 5 years in Nz.. Never wanna come here

Note to only owner- Respect people , everyone is not same you are also an Indian…. I have no personal intention with you but i felt too bad today , so please learn how to respect people..

We ate here today as a last minute decision and wow are we glad we did!! One of the best Indian restaurants we've visited. The staff were unbelievably friendly. Absolutely nothing was too much and they really looked after us and our 5 year old daughter. We were apprehensive about her eating anything and kicking up a fuss as she can be picky about food she isn't used to, but they assured us that all would be fine and that she was welcome to share with us instead of ordering her own meal. In the end I had to share half of my paneer butter masala because she absolutely loved it! The paratha was cooked to perfection too. We've been in NZ for 10 days now and that was the best meal we've had. So good that the 5 year old declared it "almost as good as McDonald's"! Today on 17 Feb 2024, I visited Tauranga Port in Newzealand. I visited Bombay Brasserie Indian restaurant on the corner of maunguani road in Tauranga. I never thought they serve prisoners and patients food. I ordered kalimrichi chicken gravy, nan, rice, sprite and beer. Beer and sprite tasted good, everything else was rubbish. Kalimirchi chicken tasted like cashewnut gravy sprinkled with black pepper powder flakes and chicken pieces no taste at all and served cold, rice and nan also served cold, no accompaniments like pickle and onions were served, when i asked, he said it will be charged extra, no salt and pepper on the table. I wonder how they do business, there were only 4 customers at 12.30 noon in the restaurant, one couple came to check the menu, the waiter said it is outside when menus were available...
