Bad service, missing dinner items and eye rolls 🙄?!

I think we’re about done with Entx after our experience tonight, when at the end my partner asked why on earth I always favour booking there. Other than proximity, I no longer have another reason.

Tonight I booked Lux for his birthday - $60 for tickets and a $100 dinner package. One of the items, gourmet popcorn, I asked to change for the regular popcorn we prefer. We received a small, which is cheaper than a gourmet popcorn. So when they charged me $3 less for the package I assumed they kindly altered to suit this.

We never received the chicken starter that was part of our package. After the movie I pointed this out and was told along the lines of ‘oh but we charged you per item for x, y, z so actually you got the popcorn for free because the package didn’t go through’ - with zero offer to do anything to remedy.

I bought a ‘package’, which you OFFER and SELL and yet your staff get annoyed at me for pointing out when that’s not what was received. I don’t understand why there was a total lack of apology or willingness to help either..

I have worked in hospo, now in service and as a result I am always kind and patient with other people working in these areas. That aside, the staff at Entx are either untrained and unsupported or genuinely hopeless.

The customer service is awful. I’ve had issues almost every time I’ve been to the lux cinema, which for a minimum of $60 for 2 but exceeding $100 if you order food and drink items, you should be able to expect much better service.

I had to repeat about three times what was offered in the package before a manager begrudgingly said she’d take my email and send some sort of voucher. My partner watched staff roll their eyes at me from the lounge and we are both pretty shocked at the service after spending $160.

The complex itself is really well executed and the cinemas and chairs are lovely but the consistently poor service absolutely ruins the experience and makes it not worth the money.

My other recent experience was when buying food my app crashed. To access my points the staff needed to type in my phone number to the computer. The staff member I had quite literally sighed and asked irritably “do you need a new card?”. It wasn’t a busy day and there was only one other waiting in line. Felt a bit dramatic of a reaction for needing to search my account because the app (with my loaded card) wasn’t working that day.

I think, as advised to by others, we’ll be moving on to try...

Here's a more civil review without sounding like a Karen due to my last one-

Normal cinemas some of the Recliners don't work so maybe do maintenance checks. Some of us do pay to watch the movie in comfort.

Lux Experience- Don't waste your money. Paid the Luxury Package for Food. 2 Starters and 2 Mains. Baby Squid was hard and chewy, Fried Chicken, bruh I don't even know what the hell that was, the Cheeseburger Sliders tasted like eating a burger full of pickles and the Taco Trio was probs the most decent. The Cocktails and what they're charging at $20 for all Classic Cocktails and $21 for their Signature ones, I swear if the Staff at Mr Brightside Roof Top Bar saw these they'd be spewing because that's what they charge for some of their Cocktails who have amazing, delicious and presentable Cocktails but because we were on date night and I just wanted to try enjoy myself there wasn't much else we could do. Presentation of the Cocktails were like fizzy drinks and a lemon wedge was on the glass and that's it🤦🏼‍♀️The Staff who made them are not professionals as I was observing them. They were looking at each other like uhhh does that look right?🤦🏼‍♀️ Was there a Duty Manager on site? Like who were supervising the Staff? Because they looked like 16 year olds mixing drinks at a random house party🤦🏼‍♀️ We were informed order as much food and drinks but not the case, went into the theater, we paid full price of the cocktails and come the happy hour they refused me service. We didn't cause a scene, disturb any of the other customers in the theater we were trying to enjoy our date night watching a movie and enjoying food and drinks. It was giving the Staff just wanted to stand behind the bar, do the bare min and get paid for it. All those who have left Reviews about the Lux Experience believe them. It's an absolute scam with the Happy Hour. If you do it order all your cocktails between 9pm-10pm that's when they're $14. There's nothing really different between the Lux cinemas and the normal cinemas apart from there's a table there for your food and drinks. Recliners aren't even that comfy either. Over all the experience was no good and wouldn't recommend others doing it unless you wanna waste your money on a stink experience. Won't...

The staff at this cinema are inconsistent, unprofessional, they lie and break the cinema rules whenever they wish.

My partner walked food in a very visible way past the staff bought from the food court into the cinema several times and the staff did not contest.

My partner asked 3 staff members in front of me with the food in his hand whether he could take it into the movie and the girls all said that he absolutely could because it was one of the main features of hoyts entx cinema that you can enjoy the food and the movies all at once and that it would be silly if you couldn't do that since the two were designed to go together at entx.

Next time we wanted go to a movie I had food with me to take into the movie and the staff at the counter said that they've changed the policy allowing food inside from entx and then he said it was never their policy and then he said we cant bring hot smelly food into the cinema even though hoyts lux and the bar food place inisd the cinema are selling pizza, fries and burgers which are all hot smelly foods.

If you cannot enjoy entx food at hoyts entx, it's not worth going to a cinema that is way more expensive than the rest and has no extra perks because getting the perks is so expensive and conditional.

You can get a great screen, sound and reclining seats at the other cinemas too.
