Hmm, I agree with the reviews regarding the decor, rather swish, we saw advantages to have a café open later into the evening that doubles over which serves drinks should one so require. The staff member quick to point out that they wanted the place as a '🍸 cocktail ' evening venue. I was a little taken aback by the abruptness of the staff member, who made quite a point 👉 to this fact! I would suggest that they welcome all folk, especially those with the time, and disposable income who enjoy going out and meeting ones friends in new ventures. We got the distinct impression that the older folks were not so much the client base wanted, more wanting the younger set. ??
Over the last two weeks, we have tested the café, during the week days, and on the weekend. We encountered some wonderfully friendly staff who made us welcome, Sadly, others sounded RATHER ARROGANT and DISMISSIVE!? which frankly left one of our group keen to LEAVE without ordering. 🤔 Doubt they will return. This ARROGANCE was noted on more than one occasion over several different days. One I understand was a manager? Who made a point of telling us he has worked hard to build an image.
We gave it another shot today, and waited ✋️ for at least 25 minutes for our orders to be taken 😏 some of the staff completely ignored our group 😑
Hot drinks of good quality iced drinks also delicious allergy milks 🥛 not...
Read moreWe went there tonight at around 8:30pm 7 people wanting dessert and coffee. We were told that the coffee machine is already off and they can serve hot chocolate(well the milk was froth using the coffee machine actually) so we went with hot chocolate and dessert. But my partner really wanted a coffee so he didnt order. There were like 15 people there. Then when our dessert arrive i need extra teaspoon and also more people were coming (looking rich) so while i was standing to get a teaspoon i heard the coffee grinder and the waiter look at me(lol). Then i said isnt that the coffee grinder?he said yes we just opened.i got so upset coz i feel sorry for my partner not having anything they were so rude. We were very nicely dress and we have good jobs for us to be treated unfairly! He said sorry but its too late! They could have went to us and said oh were going to open coffee again maybe u wanna order. But nah we were not important to be informed! Very disappointing experience for tonight! I told one of there waiter and shaking with anger with him. They gave us complimentary dessert and didnt let us pay for our tiramisu but they destroyed our night very bad experience! Also my partner emailed them about the experience and we didnt get a...
Read moreOne of the tastiest high teas I’ve had. Desserts were exceptional, eye pleasing and delicious. Lemon Meringue had a good balanced of acidity and sweetness, choux pastry were delightful. I love the thoughtful touch of coating the banana brownie with a thin layer of chocolate. The smoked salmon en croute was a mouthful of heaven. You can taste the quality of the ingredients used.
I opted in for the $75 high tea menu with a glass of champagne, coffee. For $65 you have the same set minus the champagne.
The top and second layer of desserts were fantastic. The set comes with 2 scone (cheese and cranberry, they weren’t spectacular, but fine) with whipped butter and what seemed like a home-made jam.
The least enjoyable aspects of the high tea were the beetroot tart with whipped feta, it was far too salty (my friend next to me agreed ) and the brioche of the egg sliders, wasn’t soft and buttery to even out the dryness of the egg filling.
Nevertheless I had a great experience at this beautiful venue. We were a big table of 9. They did miss bringing my latte, but brought it over as soon as I mentioned it. The waitstaff are smiley and attentive. I am looking forward to returning again and try their tasty looking full size dessert from...
