June 2025: There have now been multiple occasions where the mushroom or seaweed inari have been on the same board as the crab inari, touching, with some of the crab in/on the 'vegan' inari. I've pointed this out to them a few times and they just left the board in there, as is. That's not acceptable.

Jan 2025: After changing locations they're back, and they're like a brand new business! The vegan inari and sushi options are really tasty.

2024: We ordered a few mini spring rolls, dumplings and a vege pancake thing from the hot cabinet, plus a couple of cold items. The hot cabinet really isn't. ALL of our food was cold.

I went and had a chat with the manager, who advised that the hot cabinet is really more of a warmer with heating above and below. I advised that it's probably not working very well as the food wasn't even warm, and there are possibly food safety concerns as well if the food is held in that environment for a while. All the manager had to say was "sorry about that". That's it, no offer of a full or partial refund, nothing else.

Not exactly reflecting Japanese pride and service here. Sure, it's just an airport fast food outlet, but putting out decent food and committing to resolving issues should be the minimum standard at least.

Really disappointing. Won't be back and certainly suggest other options, like...

Passing through the airport on our way down south, and my daughter and I were a little peckish (surprise surprise!!). As the options were limited and we did not feel like burgers for breakfast, we decided on our common go-to... Sushi! We grabbed a pack of salmon and avocado sush', a couple of prawns, some takoyaki (or should I say, 'takoYUMMY'!) and a bowl of Miso Ramen with pork. The sushi was fine, perhaps a little more attention to the rice would have raised the bar, but it was nice enough. The prawn and takoyaki from the oven were not as warm as I like, and not so fresh, but again, we enjoyed eating them. The Miso was yummy. Piping hot, with a lovely Miso flavour. The pork was well cooked and was melting off my chopsticks. The boiled egg was perfect and the noodles did their job! The main complaint, and there is no surprise here, is the price. Sure, at the airport we are a captive audience, but we paid almost $70 for what was basically a, snack. All in all a better choice than the burger place next door, but could have been better. To finish on a more positive note, likely the best 'healthy' option in...

Breath of fresh air at the airport. In the middle of cafes and other typical items you will find this sushi place. Quite a good variety of sushi available. Generally you find packed boxes but this place had individual sushi to choose from. Apart from sushi there were other fried items as well including chicken skewers.

Another good thing I noticed is that they do not have small packets if ginger or wasabi. There is one big box and you can choose as much as you like. They offer paper/cardboard boxes instead of plastic boxes. There was some seating space but was closed. This wasn’t a problem as there is plenty of seats on the airport. Of course there is paid parking at the airport. Staff is...

Definitely the best sushi I've had in Ōtautahi Christchurch. They have a great range of hot dishes (ramen, udon, curry), prepacked sushi rolls and best of all self serve cabinets with lots of tasty delights! The tempura prawns and takoyaki were amazing. My favourite thing I had was the tempura sushi roll. First time I've had one like that and it's definitely one of my favourite kinds of sushi now. Everything was affordably priced too, it cost us $20 to get 4 or 5 things each. Staff were friendly and provided fast service. The decor is really cute I love the art on the wall with lucky cat and ramen bowl. Highly recommend checking them out!
