If I could give them a 0 star I would be happy to. Went here for my best friends bday party and this was the first time she’s ever hosted something and was very excited. The harbour bridge was closed due to horrible weather and we’re stuck on the motorway for an hr and was running late for our booking. We called and let them know about this and they said it was fine however while the other people arrived the staff had told everyone that there was a $500 drinks tab when there wasn’t. When we arrived at the venue our friends were asking about the tab and had to awkwardly explain that there was no tab on anything. First red flag. When we were ready to order the lady was full of attitude and was defensive when we said the bar tab wasn’t under our name and she argued that it was… at the end she said she’ll talk o her manager and get back and awkwardly in front of everyone told us that there wasn’t a bar tab. Super unprofessional in my opinion as a 20 year old who has a lot of respect for workers. She then said there was a minimum spend of $500 for this venue and I was hoping she would just stop talking. So embarrassing when she reminded everyone they have to pay when they already were going to pay. Next I tried ordering a drink on the qr code kept on the table and noticed it hadn’t come after 30 mins. When we let them know she asked to see the order and I realised I hadn’t signed in to complete the order. I felt bad and apologised and then made a face that made me look stupid and said that we can’t order through the QR code cuz we are under a tab. But why was the QR code in the private venue then?. She took the food away with attitude again and made a face with her other worker. They also placed 3/4 plates of fried chicken on our table that wasn’t ours and gaslit us saying we did order it with attitude again. One of my friends went to find another waitress and said these weren’t our and they double checked the order to see that it wasn’t ours. They then had the audacity to say that we can keep it but it’ll be charged for under our tab???? Absolutely ridiculous behaviour and couldn’t believe the staff. Either they were upset that we were late when that had nothing to do with them because they had no other bookings or they were overworked or payed below minimum but please don’t work if you can’t have good attitude towards anything because it puts other people down and ruined our night. What a perfect venue to have chosen for a family gathering of 40 of us, including great grandchildren, as a lead up to a weekend of celebrations for my mother's 100th birthday. Bella, who looked after our party for the evening, was superbly efficient, and had a super friendly manner. In short, she was marvellous! I welcomed her recommendations, prior to everyone's arrival, for food and when was appropriate to order this. Little pizzas for the children arrived without delay at a special children's table, with colouring pencils and pictures to be coloured supplied as well. The adult food of platters and pizzas, including gluten free pizzas were delicious and of a gourmet standard.. The professionalism and quality of the service and food provided were very much appreciated. Also appreciated was the quick attention when an unforeseen medical event occurred requiring emergency medical attention and an ambulance. I visited fantail & turtle with my mum and aunty in the late afternoon, it wasn't busy but wasn't dead either. We asked to sit inside and they happily seated us. We ordered two coffees which were nice. We orders 3 snacks; chips, kumara with duck fat and the fried chicken. We waited around 20 minutes for the chips and then half an hour for the chicken. We then waited another half an hour for the duck fat kumara which by the time that came out we can finished the chips and chicken. We had two staff members come over and tell us that we would need to move because they have a function coming in at 5:30 bare in mind it was only 4:30. We said that we were still waiting on food and there was no apology or sympathy, they just wanted us out. Once we finally got the kumara, I asked for a takeaway box as we felt unwelcomed and rushed. She started taking away our plates but could clearly see we were finished nor did she ask if we were finish. The duck fat kumara was so nice and the fried chicken was the best I've had.
