On 26/02/2025 my boyfriend took me to this cafe for breakfast/brunch-ish and it was a surprise for me since I've never been to here nor did I know this cafe was here. We accidentally walked straight to the back of the cafe rather than entering through the front, and it was such a lovely surprise. We were greeted by such a beautiful alleyway that lead towards to the secluded outdoor seating area!
The ambience and aesthetic quality was wonderful, relaxing and peaceful since there were wind chimes! The people who served us was also great, they noticed us fast when we had walked towards the back and they were kind. We had this one specific person who served us most of the time and he was awesome, he was attentive towards us; asked us if we needed anything, how the food was, and asking if there was anything that they needed to improve on, etc. He also took photos of my boyfriend and I, and even suggested another area to take photos (Within the cafe of course) and took great photos of us!
The food and drinks did take a while to come out which was OK for us, and I personally would've liked if the food came a little earlier especially since it didn't seem too busy during the time (when we were there), thankfully we weren't starving and the wait was worth it since the food presentation was beautiful, and the iced mochas were nice and I liked the presentation of them too.
I had ordered a french toast and my bf had ordered the waffles, I really enjoyed my french toast- it was slightly warm because of the wait, and I would've preferred it to be more warmer but the taste was great and I loved it. However my bfs waffles were unfortunately a little too cold, and the texture was more crumbly rather than being able to hold it's shape, and the texture wasn't nearly as enjoyable as my french toast was. The taste was great as well, but the texture? Hmm not so much.
Overall it was a really nice place to eat at and I'd...
Read moreWhat a delightful start to the day. My family of four had such a great breakfast experience that we came two days in a row while visiting the area and to be honest, we will probably be back again tomorrow. The food is delicious. The service was intuitive and pretty quick even with a bit of a crowd. Service was very friendly and they seemed to know what I needed before I did! I was curious about the creamy mushroom toast, wasn't sure if I should veer off my usual rotation of tried and true breakfast orders but I'm so glad I did. It was savory and hit the spot on our first visit. I was wanting something sweet today and tried the French toast. Delicious. Wrangling two kids at meal times can be tricky but this spot was great. They had a kids box they brought to the table with some coloring books, Legos and play doh which kept the kids busy the whole meal was a dream for a tired mom. I noticed a couple highchairs to the side if you have little ones. There was space to the side to store our strollers. Bathrooms were clean and close to wash up. It's the simple things that really make this a special spot. My latte was made well. The food is presented beautifully, edible flowers really add to the dishes and are a nice visual touch. I know it sounds silly but all these little things make or break a place when you're spending money and Plumm Cafe really made us feel fancy and special. Cheers to the staff who went above and beyond. Also whoever is in charge of produce I would like to know the secret. Everything was perfectly ripe and full of flavor. Thank you for taking such good care of us. I highly recommend making a trip here if you have a little time to enjoy yourself or want to impress a friend/date/family etc. Social groups need to have this space...
Read moreI've been traveling in a campervan across New Zealand's North Island for a month. It's time to return to my home country, and I'd like to leave a comment about this cafe I visited during my last four days. Opening the earliest near Takapuna Beach Holiday Park, this cafe is located at the end of a busy street, making it a quiet spot. I go there every morning at 6 a.m. to drink coffee and write for an hour or two. The workbench by the window is perfect for concentration, and the Wi-Fi is excellent. I'm a very picky coffee drinker, and even though it was their first cup, the consistency was satisfying. Campsite guests get a 10% discount on meals, but I always overlooked the delicious-looking sandwiches and cakes because I had so many leftovers in the fridge to clear before I left. The diligent owner bakes fresh bread every morning. I've been to cafes all over the country for a month, but this is the only one I've reviewed. I want to share good memories with others. Thanks to this cafe, I'm able to enjoy a cup of coffee that suits my taste and get my...
