Pizza was sogy. Seafood pasta smelt bad since the meat was half cooked. Real bad experience of italian food after a long time.

Below is the new edited Review* VERY IMPORTANT* I AM REALLY UPSET AND WRITING THIS. I had got a message on Facebook this morning from ‘Mario Kotevski’ who is the owner of Portofino Restaurant Takapuna Italian Restaurant. He messages me because of the above negative review I wrote for his restaurant on Valentines Day. He argued with me and asked me to remove my review from Google. I told him as a customer I have rights to review and put my feedback. He also mentioned ‘All perfect in India, from nowhere and don’t know what his intention was. THIS IS RACIST. After chatting for a while he said ‘if you don't like don't come. I have many customers’. I asked why he mentioned about India and then he started judging me that I go out just once a year. I told him to mind his business or else I have screenshots of what all he has told me I will put it up on online. He then threatened me by saying he has my name and surname and is going to #POLICE for this. He told me twice he will go to the #POLICE. Guys please be aware of this ‘Mario Kptevski’ who is the owner of Takapuna Portofino Restaurant.**Check the screenshots of the messages. Instead of addressing my problem his objective was to somehow make me remove my review. This is very disturbing as an owner of a very famous chain of restaurants. I want to try and be fair about this review as the service was good and was let down by its main meals two of us ordered the Eye Fillet Steak med rare both came out medium to well done this happens I get that, this steak sat on a very small portion of potato and two very small pieces of broccoli which were cold, the main was measly and I complained to the waiter who said some extra broccoli was coming, by the time it came I had finished my main and my colleague had nearly finished his, my other Colleagues lamb was acceptable. Still hungry we ordered fries they came after we finished which was ok We decided as we were still hungry to order a dessert the Cheesecake was amazing and the Panacota delicious and the portion generous. Disappointed however when we paid the bill the manager did deduct the chips and extra broccoli and apologised, as a result of that we would go back. Seriously going out today is very expensive our steak was $42 with a mouthful of potato and broccoli underneath it. The cost of putting a little more potato and vegetable is minimal. Walked passed by and went in for asking directions, got terrible swearing and yelling at us by this lady which made us feel like on a different planet. For that, this shop will never be our meal choice AT ALL!!

We were looking for the Daikoku restaurant (they don't have clear signage of the entrance), we circled the corner back and forth, checked with the Chinese restaurant first and was told to use the steps, but couldn't find the steps hence went into your restaurant for help. This lady was busy setting up the place when I went in and apologized for interrupting her before I asked for the direction, she said it is round the corner and I asked back that" the corner still part of your restaurant" - that was when she got higher volume and angry tone "it is just round the corner" and she repeated it several times.
