Florrie McGreals — Restaurant in Devonport-Takapuna

There was a 'regular' in there when my friends and i went to this place for the first time, as were odering drinks we notice this regular laughing with the bar staff, all friendly etc anyway a few hours go by, we go into the pokies and go sit on a machine (that isnt reserved, we havent seen anyone on it since we have entered and there was no remaining money or spins on it? So we chucked a 20 in it (i dont play pokies ever) 5 minutes later, this regular comes running at us saying thats my machine (after we started to win, but she never mentioned anything while we were spending and losing). She is yelling and swearing and being abusive, so i called for the staffs help and they ran in and said "get off her machine" and didnt ecen let us explain, and wouldnt let us get out money oit, then when i got my camera out and start filming, the staff say we cant record and have to leave , then the regular snatches my phone from my hand and throws it away, i have this all on video... the staff were on this regulars side as they knew her well, but we were paying customers who did nothing wrong and got abused and offered no help and asked to leave with out even hearing our side, and we never made a scene where as this lady was screaming. Under new management apparently, popped in last night looking forward to a late night snack, our usual on nights out when returning home, buffalo wings and beer batter fries, we would normally order it to go and have a beer while we wait, unfortunately the new manager advised in a rather condescending tone that if food is ordered, it will have to be consumed on the premises, apparently he’s never seen take away containers at the establishment since he started and felt that “food to go” was against policy, how ridiculous, seems he just didn’t want to serve us food, he then went on to contradict himself and say that food is available to go up until 9pm through Uber eats, I suppose takeaway containers magically disappear and policy regarding food leaving the premises immediately changes at 9:01pm, hahaha, oh and most alcohol on tap was not available, not even Guinness ..... nevertheless, there were two other people behind the bar who served us a few drinks, a young man and woman, they were extremely friendly and pleasant, unfortunately the 1 star is to highlight the poor attitude...

Couldn't get in anywhere else in takapuna so thought we would come in for a quick meal. Pretty bad even for a what is basically a public bar. Diet coke had run out of syrup so said I'd have a juice. Only half a bottle of that left so I had it topped up with lemonade. No effort to replace the diet coke syrup which I would have thought would be a no brainer . Tables for eating all sticky and meals came really late. Had the mussell pot which I thought couldn't go wrong but the sauce on it seemed like tinned tomatoes and tabasco (I could be wrong but I don't think so) which would have been OK if it tasted nice but it didn't. Don't go there unless you are hammered out of your brain like the rest of the people there who started singing off tune at the top...
