I have been a regular at Joe's for some time but unfortunately it has gone down hill lately. A group of us came here for brunch and it seemed to be problem after problem. I have always ordered off the kids menu after having stomach surgery, this time they wouldn't allow it even after explaining my situation. They bought the kids menu out initially once asked (no children were at the table) and then backtracked when I went to order saying the age requirement was 14 and under (there was no age requirement on the menu). She said people in my situation usually make their meal from the sides menu. When I did place a different order off the main menu of 2 sides, coleslaw wasn't available so all of a sudden I was allowed to order off the kids menu 😅. Schnitzel was ok, rather chewy. Other meals were cold, not even served on warm plates, they forgot added avo on one of the meals and 2 of the meals were below average in terms of flavour and value.
You pay a lot to go out these days, it's a rare occurrence for some. I would come here for a beer and a bowl of chips but that's about it. Even then they only have a few tap beers and you would likely have a better experience elsewhere. A real shame as it used be be so...
Read moreGood afternoon, My friends and I went to Joe’s Garage for brunch today (Sunday 27th Feb) 3/5 of us ordered the Gorgeous George Meals, and was very disappointed especially with the potatoes. The menu said “Smashed Spuds” but when the order finally arrived, The potatoes were all hard like plastic and rubbery to cut through, they tasted absolutely horrible. When I questioned the waiter, she was advised by the kitchen that they were “Yesterdays Potatoes” which as you can imagined - that alone shockingly blew our minds, she proceeded to ask if we wanted some more? which we obviously all replied with No. It was time for us to pay for our meal, and when questioned “how was everything today” we voiced our concerns and we were challenged with the fact that the potatoes are cooked and baked overnight which doesn’t mean they’re old - which in the end was the very point - The potatoes were not cooked fresh therefor it ruined the entire meal as they tasted old and re heated. Glad they removed the x3 gorgeous gorge meals, as it certainly wasn’t eatable. Others heard our experience, and was quick to leave as they said the service wasn’t great and that they had been waiting for their waiters to come back...
Read moreThis ONE STAR is for Joe's Garage wonderful RESTAURANT and their WONDERFUL STAFF. In fact they deserve NO STAR.
I went to this restaurant on Tuesday 31st May along with other 8 colleagues around 5.30 pm. We ordered different food and I ordered Vege Burger. The burger was ok but while eating burger, I suddenly notice something stuck in my teeth, I took out and found steel wool wire.
We called staff member at reception and her reaction was quite normal and tried to move away from matter by just saying Sorry. After this incident, we all notices that, staff member were laughing and didn't bother to took matter seriously. It was looking like these steel wool wire is QUITE COMMON in their burgers.
I was NOT EXPECTING another burger or vouchers for myself, my staff or my family BUT NO ONE BOTHERED to even acknowledge the matter.
Had that wire gone inside my stomach, I would have been in a VERY SERIOUS condition.
I will never come to this restaurant again in my life and will never advise...
