Mr. T's is located on the DressMart side of Onehunga Mall Road. It can be easy to miss since there isn't a sign by the sidewalk but there is a board on the sidewalk with a Banh Mi. They do have a cabinet but it was mostly empty when I arrived for lunch. They also have a menu. I ordered at the counter and grabbed a table but it does look like they do table service. There is a larger bench at the back and tables inside and outside the cafe. They were all mostly taken when I was there. I grabbed the prawn and pork bun cha and that was really nice. The meatballs had a nice flavour and texture. The nuoc cham dressing was really nice with the noodles and meat. It did look like everyone there had the pho so this is probably something I need to try next time. It might also be a good place for pastries but that looks to be a breakfast thing. Either way, this is a good option for some tasty food...

We ordered two pork bahn mis (17 each) and both our rolls were quite seriously overcooked - with the outside of the roll borderline burnt and way too crispy. Ruined it as we both felt that afterward our mouths were all cut up from the crispy sharp bread. The inside was still soft and fluffy but the contrast was too much. The roll was also quite bready compared to the fillings. The fillings itself were nice but once again nothing to rave about. All in all ok - would like to try again with a better cooked roll but honestly won’t be rushing back.
Edited to add we got takeaway so only discussed later otherwise potentially would have...

My must-have when I visit is the Bahn Mi. Perfec, authentic baguettes crispy and flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pork is juicy and tasty and blends perfectly with the flavours of the pate, and veges. The beef noodles and Bun cha (spring rolls, prawns and vermicelli noodles) are also recommended.
They have a great selection of fresh juice blends and their authentic patisserie style baking is amazing - try the chocolate mousse eclairs.
Mt T's is a fantastic addition to the neighbourhood. We're reluctantly moving out of Onehunga, but this is a place that we would go out of our way come...
