For people familiar with driving through Onehunga to and from the airport, their eyes usually notice the dozen oyster specials advertised, so it was nice to lunch at The Landing. Half of had half and full dozen oyster plates and the others enjoyed the 2 course meal for $25. I ordered the Coconut Curry Prawn Salad and Gurnard & Chips and an order for Bacon Scallops with Chicken Tomato Pasta was placed. All of our meals were fantastic and the seafood was generous. Accompanying our meals, we enjoyed Koropiko Pinot Noir. Staff was outstanding and delivery of food was impressively swift. A few patrons had arrived, dined and left ordering the popular 2 Course Lunch Special in the time we had been there. For excellent value to definitely satisfy, The Landing is the place to try out. There is the bar or restsurant side of the establishment, which both sides are very pleasant. Highly recommended!

Came here with my wife for a lunch date with a first table reservation. The Landing is an old school bar with a gaming lounge. The ambience and decor are dated, but a historic experience for visitors to the Onehunga area. Staff are friendly and food was served quite quickly and not at all busy so nice and quiet. The food is average and offerings of surf and turf. We ordered the scallops, garlic bread, prawns, fettuccine carbonara and fish and chips. The scallops were nice but a bit cold and overcooked. The prawns tasty, cooked well in garlic and butter. The fish and chips cooked from frozen and chips under-seasoned and weren’t very crispy. Finally pasta was bland and sauce watery and tasted like it was zapped in the microwave and garlic bread was good. Glad we came as a first table reservation as only paid half price as the food overall was underwhelming so wouldn’t recommend.

I have been a regular at the landing for a while and i must say that the old ambience is lovely so kudos to the people or former owners that did the renovation. I have a big issue with a certain bar man that works there. He is rude and sometimes you go in and there can be quite a number of people waiting to be served and he is no where to be found. His hospitality is terrible with no people skills at all. The other night i went in there and there was a new bar person at the bar who was very hospitable and with a lovely smile. The bar man in person was sitting at the table giving her orders from where he was sitting. I had been in the landing for about 40 minutes and i was sitting at a pokie machine when he called out to me from right across the room so everyone could hear that i had to take my hat off. I got off the machine and walked over to him and asked him why that was as i had come many times before with a hat on. He then pointed to the sign saying No sunglasses, hoodies or caps. I told him he isn't a cap it is a hat and a stylish one at that. He then went on to say that any gambling room you cannot wear them. He was making the rules to suit himself and to shout it out in public when he could of approached me and then told me. I was disgusted with his behaviour and told him i want to see the manager and he said that he was the manager. I then said you are the duty manager and not the owner and i want an email address so i can put in a formal complaint. He then handed me a business card which i will email to the owners hopefully it gets to them. This person can not go on bullying people when all they want to do is come in and relax and not be intimidated by staff. I am surprised that they still get patrons as he is the most uncouth person i have met in the...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Landing in Onehunga, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home as soon as we walked in.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the fish and chips. Perfectly cooked with a crispy, golden batter and tender, flaky fish inside, it was the best I've had in a long time. The chips were equally impressive – hot, crunchy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left with satisfied appetites.

The ambiance of The Landing is cozy and inviting, with a laid-back atmosphere that makes it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff's attentiveness and genuine warmth added to the overall positive experience, making us eager to return.

If you're in Onehunga and looking for a fantastic place to enjoy delicious fish and chips with top-notch service, The Landing is a must-visit. Highly...

Went here last minute for a small celebration for 8 people, good quiet atmosphere, clean restaurant, separate bar to restaurant. Staff were very helpful and accomdating to our specific needs. Food wise was let down a little bit, the chunky mushroom sauce was very watery and not very flavourful at all, steak was cooked well. Lamb cutlets were nice, would have loved a slight crunch to them but overall very good! Snapper and chips 7/10, snapper not fresh and was a bit dry. Thai red curry was a nice flavour, we had ordered mild but it did have some spice to it still, mouth was a bit tingly! Snapper and mash, slightly too salty but overall a nice dish!

My one big issue was with the dessert menu, we had the brownie which was lovely BUT it wasn't specified there were nuts in it and my sister is allergic, thankfully we picked it up before it was too late but I would recommend ensuring that potential allergens are put on the menu!

Overall was a good experience and would...
